YOGA/Flexibility/Mobility for Men

I have been following this stretching YOGA regime by Ryan Giggs who is almost 40 and still moves graciously around the pitch when he plays for Man United.

Your Supposed to do it once or twice a week but I`ve been lazy and only doing it once a month/two months.

Calves have been at me a bit the last month or so (I thought it might have been because I came back to quickly from two weeks off training), and my back has been at me in the last week, so I am going to do it once a week now again, as I found when I do it, it is great.

Does anybody else use this DVD?

Also, can you recommend other DVDs that are good for mobility/stretching/flexibility (aimed at men). Would prefer DVDs but if you can recommend websites that is good too.

I might be wrong but yoga isn't gender specific...

male yoga is, female yoga is not.

    mobilitywod.com and do it daily
    or buy his book.

Stretching once a week is like eating good once a week - you wont see any difference unless you do it daily

Plus 1! I bought his book recently (after coming across it on transforms / dominics website!) - €38 well spent, it's a brilliant book for mobility / injury treatment & prevention. Very well written.

Becoming a Supple Leapard is name of it by the way. Below link is where I got it from, cheaper than amazon and got it in less than a week:

yes on the book. I try to do 3/4 moves from the book a day, using the videos on the site to aid me. probably 15-25 minutes most days and 1 or 2 longer sessions twice week or so.

Also check out Kit Laughlin's work, although he would advocate just this - a hard stretching session only once or twice a week.
He does also advocate daily "limbering" though, the difference being that stretching is trying to attain new range of motion (ROM), whereas limbering is bringing you body through your current achievable ROM.

I got the book. I wasn't crazy about it. It really would have benefited from some tighter editing.

It has an amazing review score on amazon (maybe he got all his friends and family to review it), I`ll take a chance on it, anything that will make me more supple!

Ordered off amazon (34 sterling) and should arrive in Ireland tomorrow night (using parcel motel and amazon prime).

And it had that score before it was released. It's still pretty good, and to be honest I can't think of anything else out there that's clearly better than it. It's just not as amazing as the reviews make it out to be. I'm not sure anything could be that amazing.
