I have read through nutrition101. I am kind of bamboozled by all of the info in there. I have been losing weight over the last year or so and am down from 105kg to 92kg. I am 6'2" and male.I lost the weight by cutting out on boredom eating. I am now looking to add a little science and target the weight loss to reduce body fat and start toning up a bit. I am at 19% body fat.
What I am really looking for is a link to a few recipes that are reasonbly easy to make and are tasty. I am particularly looking for ones that are fairly quick as with two jobs at the moment, a wife and two young kids things are scarily busy. I would be very grateful for any help with this. I am about a 6/10 in the kitchen so I can handle a little more than wholemeal toast. Thanks again folks.

    buy a slow cooker.
    buy beef or pork shoulder
chop onions, carrots, any other veg you like.
make a spice rub, coat the meat.
veg in first, then meat, pour over stock (chicken/beef/ham all is good)
turn it on before work and you'll have a meal ready for when you come home.
Use plenty of veg and it'll cover the vast majority of of your dietary requirements.

I bought a large shoulder on Sunday for around €15, made around 7/8 portions with it.

alternatively, learn to stir fry, you can use turkey or chicken thighs which are cheaper.
on the days when you have time slice 5 onions, a bulb of garlic(or buy pre crushed)
8/10 peppers, a head of broccoli, and any other veg you like.
keep them in tubs in the fridge (onions in a little water with lemon juice to keep them perky)

slice up chicken/turkey for the whole week into 1cm/2cm cubes.

then when you come home fire up the wok/fry pan on a hot heat

add the meat until its browned.
    remove the meat,
add the onions, peppers, brocolli garlic, and what else you fancy. cook until onion start to go clear.
add the browned meat. add spices, soy sauce, fish sauce, lime/lemon juice etc.

doesnt sound like much, but those 2 techniques can make a weeks worth of cheap, easy, healthy and varied food. use a nice mixture of spices and you'll never eat the same meal twice in a week.

the stir fries take about 5-10 minutes to cook. so you can feed a family of four with one hand in 10 minutes.
