Also, just thought Id do a final set of 'what I want' predictions, to look back on after we get our results :)
The course I want (DN440) was 560 last year, but I'm expecting it to rise, so I want at least 565, or 570..

    Subject | Pessimistic | Optimistic | Goal
    English | B2 | A2 | B1
    Irish | B3 | B1 | B1
    Maths | B1 | A2 | B1
    Spanish | B1 | A1 | B1
    Business | B2 | A2 | B1
    Physics | A2 | A1 | A1
    Biology | A2 | A1 | A1
    Points | 535 | 595 | 565

Heres to hoping I get somewhere between 595 and 565 :o

    Ok, English-dissection time :cool::pac:

    Paper 1:
Overall, this was a beautiful paper :D I did the Question A on Text 1 (like everyone else ) and Question B on Text 2, and then the short story on a ghostly presence :)
The comprehension questions were lovely and I wrote a formal letter to JK Rowling about books and whatnot
    Hoping for about 160/200

    Paper 2:
    Herein lies the trainwreck...
This went horribly, hopefully Ill get a pleasant surprise in August and get the B2/B1 I need...
Dickinson was an ok answer, hopefully I got good marks here, the unseen poetry was a big PPPPSFFFSSS (raspberry noise) - only wrote about 3/4 of a page :pac:
Comparative was a big load of waft, big let down.. as was Macbeth, felt I let myself down there :(
    Hoping for about 118/200 :(

    Roll on Maths!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,673 ✭✭✭aleatorio

Maths paper 1 went absolutely amazzzinngg :D
Got everything correct in Section A, except for 3 little blunders (2 marks max each I'd say ), and Section B was great too, only bits that threw me were the bridge area and finding PB in the pythag q, and my last part of Q9 was a bit dodgy but still confident in an A in that paper :cool:

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,673 ✭✭✭aleatorio

    Heres what Im doing today:

Went through Maths books and marked all important pages, wrote out any formulas I need to know off and made note of anything very important
Wrote out all 8 trig derivations (Ew)
Wrote out a load of examples of circle questions because I always find them difficult

    Now Im going to:
Do the 2013 paper and grade it
    Make Statistics notes
    Make Probability notes

Then maybe a bit of P1 stuff for Irish

Maths paper 2: This was a bit... meh... I don't really know to be honest :o Some questions were fine, but probability always throws my confidence a bit, and I hate opinionated statistics qs because it all depends on the marker.. :( Last part of Q9 threw me, as did the part about Drug B's maximum, and I made a few silly mistakes I'd say :o I might be a bit happier when I see the answers
Irish paper 1: This. was. beautiful! The aural was simple, at least 56/60 Id say, and then I did the essay on young people and wrote about 5 pages on EVERYTHING :pac: Fingers crossed for an A1 in that and an A1 in the oral, and some form of a B tomorrow and life will be brilliant <3
