Cheapist shop for ON Serious Mass?

    Is there anywhere thats even doing a 12lb bag buy one get one free? A 6lb tub only has 8 servings and averages from 40-50 euro! Dont want to be spending hundreds to gain a few kgs. Response greatly appreciated.

    Either way my advise is as follows;

    1) realise no single product will make or break your mass gaining goals
    2) educate yourself in relation to the macro content (protein, carbs, fat) per 100 gram serving.
    3) educate yourself in relation to ingredients in these type of products ( e.g the largest conponant is often dextrose or maltodextin which is basically dirt cheap sugar as an ingredient)
    4) realise that these product are generally over priced crap and the only advantage they have is that they taste good and are handy
    5) once you realise that decide to make your own "gainer" (I prefer not to call it a gainer rather just call it a liquid meal, you can use the same or similar ingredients in different ratios and quantities when cutting weight).
    For your shake pick....
    A protein source ( or multiples ones): any powdered protein, egg whites etc
    A carb source: powdered oats, wheatabix, malto etc.
    A fat source: olive oil, flax oil, peanut butter (also doubles a protein source).
    Any extra: fibre supps, digestive enzymes, vitamins etc. milk, fruit etc

    By making it yourself you save money, stay in control of macro ratio.

    Yeah, the recomended serving for Serious Mass is a ridiculous 340g of powder mixed with water. I doubt that anyone is actually doing that.


    OP, I second John_cappa's advise. Read the ingredients and realise how simple these gainers are to make yourself.

    Surely skim milk + oats + banana + peanut butter in a blender is cheaper and more nutritious than buying "mass" powder?

    You can adjust the ingredients to suit any macros you need and it will be delicious.

    I wish I struggled to get enough calories :( heh

    Much more nutrious but why on earth would you use skim milk!!!!

    I use milk to make my drink. Is milk bad?
    Also i don't use the low fat milk.

    Milk is excellent. My point was making a mass shake but using low fat milk to make it is kind of confusing.

    Had a proper look at serious mass ad it is a terrible profile. 50g protein per 334g serving.
