Bad shows on TV that everyone else thinks are great?

Breaking bad, The Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory, and Friends are all terrible and I can never understand how anyone could find them entertaining

So, what series/moving/whatever on TV do you find to be terrible that most people seem to enjoy?

That grateful dead crap or whatever you call it. I seen better shows made by drink addled arts students.

The Big Bang Theory fair enough, although most people seem to dislike it now. Breaking bad, The Simpsons (up to season 10) and Friends were/are all fantastic shows.

I don't trust people who don't like the first few seasons of The Simpsons - fairly sure they're pod people.

You know, not that I disagree in general. Friends was Seinfeld for people who didn't get Seinfeld, the Big Bang Theory is a show about what people who aren't nerds think nerds are like, and whatever good years the Simpsons had are now long smothered by the excrement that's been pushed out consistently since... but Breaking Bad is one of the few shows that genuinely deserves the praise it gets.

How I Met Your Mother, don't understand how anyone could like it tbh.

It's a toss up between that and The Wire or The Sopranos for me, after it finishes it'll probably be Breaking Bad though unless they make a balls of ending it, which I highly doubt they will, every episode this season has been brilliant so far.

The Wire is one for me. Really enjoyed the first season, but couldn't get into the second. Don't think it's a patch on Breaking Bad and The Sopranos.

I said the EXACT same thing to someone who hated Seinfeld but loved Friends once, they liked Friends because there was no story to follow, that's exactly what Seinfeld is! it's about nothing!

Mild mannered chemistry teacher finds out he has cancer, starts cooking crystal meth with a former student who knows the drug business in order to make money to leave for his family once he's gone. It's every bit as good as it's hyped up to be.

The second is the "difficult" season, its a big departure from the first but it sets up a lot of really important stuff for the next seasons. Three and four are fantastic and move back to more what season one was like so it's well worth sticking with the second.

    Suits.

It has the style; sharp suits, flashy lifestyles, but lacks substance; the dialogue and characters are dull, self-absorbed and vacuous.

    Mrs. Browns Boys.

A lot on here will say how bad it is but in the real world this pish has won awards! I just don't think it is very good.

Any of those Shore shows, Jersey, Geordie.....or that thing about the Cardassians, as a Star Trek fan I was very disappointed with that, wasn't what I expected at all.

Yeah the Wire, Breaking Bad, and the Sopranos would be my favorites.

One thing about Breaking Bad that in my mind makes it stand out is, each season has been better than the previous ones. I couldn't say that about the Sopranos or the Wire.

All those crappy reality shows about stupid orange people.

Revenge, all my friends love it, never mind the gaping potholes and pretty much every actor chewing the **** out of the scenery.

All the soaps, it's like gossip in television form with annoying accents.

How I met your mother, there is nothing funny about this show.

Basically anything that can be classed as trashy TV, unintelligent TV.

And then people tried to put Happy Endings in the same league:eek:
Fine, but if you cant generate empathy for the characters in 3 series, end of Happy Endings. Its like the badly written end of life Scrubs.

Scrubs was good until S6, then rubbish after that and atrocious when they brought in the training school crowd.

The second season may well have not existed if I remember correctly. It's like the fifth in that it just doesn't seem to fit. Infinitely better than the tripe on nowadays. The third season is amazing and the fourth is beyond words.
I wish the Sopranos wasn't getting so much praise. Just reminds me how high up it deserves to be on my list of priorities.
I can't believe HIMYM and TBBT are still going. Used to love both when I was a lot more naive. Same for Two and a Half Men.

People keep saying this but I can't see it at all. With the Wire anyway I think season 4 was the best of the lot.

    The Walking Dead.

The acting's often well patchy, the script & direction pedestrian, characters for the most part have rarely developed beyond the one-dimensional and it plods along aimlessly for large chunks of each season.

It filled a void when I'd nothing else to watch so I stuck with it, but I wouldn't recommend it tbh.

No Ones Got Talent, X-Factor, Dancing on ****e(Ice), The Voice etc. Fcuking BS shows that are years past their due.

There are some shows that I don't like, but I can see how others will like them. Something like Bones, or CSI. I don't get the 'witty banter' between the characters and the ludicrously unrealistic lab procedures/findings, but I can see how others do.

But in some cases, like Two and a Half Men and Big bang Theory, I wonder if there is anybody out there at all who finds that crap funny?

Is it really that good? I keep meaning to. HBO are the only network I would blindly trust to make good shows any more.

I've never sat down and watched love/hate because I couldn't handle having to listen to the manky Dublin accent. I don't feel like I've missed anything either.

I've never seen it so don't really know the story line other than what I've gathered from ads and not being able to pick up a newspaper for ages without seeing some reference to it, but yeah.
