Go to the maths department. There's a door next to the mathsoc room and a flight of stairs that you can open.

Yeah if it's after midnight or you've had a bit too much to drink, you have to be sneaky

Yes. It closes at 5pm on Monday, however.

Didn't want to start a new thread, just wondering it they extend the library opening times closer to exams ?

The library will eventually operate on a 24 hour basis when we get closer to exam time.

Think moving study material after 15 minutes is a bit ridiculous tbh.
Regularly study in the 24, and when lunch/dinner time comes around there isn't a hope of leaving, grabbing something to eat and coming back with 15 minutes.

I'd usually wait an hour and a half or 2 before I move anything

I have been to public libraries where people drop their bag off and go shopping for about 3 hours. While people who actually want to study have no where to sit. In 15 mins you can have a sandwich if you bring it with you

It is entirely possible to get something to eat and be back in fifteen minutes. The university campus is, after all, located right in the city centre.

I know a sandwich definitely wouldn't fill me up anyway for a 2/3 hour study stint
If you were to go to Tolteca/KC Peaches or wherever for a meal it definitely takes about 30/45 minutes

That's kind of the point though. There's more students than study spaces, the rule is to (in theory) ensure that spaces aren't being left vacant when other students could be using them. Fifteen minutes is enough time to get a book or have a bathroom break, its not meant to be long enough to get lunch because when you go for lunch you're suppose to take your stuff with you and let someone else have the desk.
I don't get why people find it so hard to get their heads around this.

Its not like it matters anyway. The rule is never enforced.
