    Hi all,
Anyone interested in doing a boards group buy on a DAS6 pro polisher?

Ive been onto Curran of detailing shed, about arranging one and the following is the package he put together. We'd need 10 people down on a list (paid as well through Paypal) before he can go ahead and order them.

The best deal that he can offer would consist of the following based on his suppliers RRP:

    1 * DAS-6 Pro £145 / €169 (The DAS-6 is £90 / €105)

    4 * Polishes - 29.95
    http://www.chemicalguys.eu/new/v-line-polish-compound-sample-kit-4-oz-v32-v34-v36-v38.html
    - 1 x 4oz / 118ml Sample Bottle V32 Optical Grade Extreme Compound
    - 1 x 4oz / 118ml Sample Bottle V34 Optical Grade Hybrid Compound
    - 1 x 4oz / 118ml Sample Bottle V36 Optical Grade Cutting Polish
    - 1 x 4oz / 118ml Sample Bottle V38 Optical Grade Final Polish

    3 * Hex Logic Pads - 10.95 ea - 32.85 Total
    http://www.chemicalguys.eu/polishes/polishing-accessories/hex-logic-5-5-inch-green.html
    - 1 * Hex Logic 5.5" Green Heavy Polishing Pad
    - 1 * Hex Logic 5.5" Orange Medium - Heavy Cutting Pad
    - 1 * Hex Logic 5.5" White Medium - Light Polishing Pad

    3* Microfiber Cloths - 4.95 ea - 14.85 total
    http://www.chemicalguys.eu/more/microfiber/chubby-35mm-thick-microfiber.html
    1* Masking Tape - 3434 3M Blue Tape - 5.95
    http://www.detailingshed.com/machine-polishing/192-3m-3434-tape.html

    Delivery - 7.95

The grand total for this usually would be 245.70 but with a 20% Discount it works out at 196.56

So €195 in total, everything delivered.

He has also kindly offered to give a further 5% of any other items that you may wish to buy to prepare the car for polishing - clay, de-ironiser, etc, etc!

While the Pro works out a bit more expensive than the normal Das6, it is more powerful and will allow you to correct faster.

Any questions feel free to pm me (or him) and I'll get back to you as quick as I can.
Curran has also said that he can change some of the products if some of you wish.

I would love one but it's hard to justify for a white car:(
If my car was any other colour I would jump at the deal... You all can try to convince me to get one though and I might go for it anyway! :pac::o

    Hi all.
Looks like this is going ahead :D

The following are the details for the Group Buy from Curran.

    On the detailing shed website,
register on the site as you would if you were making any normal purchase -This means that they have all your details; name, address, contact number etc, etc and then use Voucher Codes to get the discount!

At the bottom of the site on the left hand side there is a section called group buy.
Click on that and you'll see that its normally €245.

However with the discount code I've pm'ed you, it reduces the price to £195.
Once we've all ordered, the order will be processed (and the da ordered from france), so they should be out to us the week after next.

I think ive sent all of you a pm with the discount codes (well i will have in the next 10 mins), if you dont get it let me know.
There is a second discount code for additional purchases.

The code reduces the price and also changes the currency?? So it doesn't really reduce the price all that much does it? :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,792 ✭✭✭Ded_Zebra

Just an apology in advance, I won't be able to pay until I get payed... Should be by Monday so I'm sorry for any delay I might cause...:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 669 ✭✭✭sedohre

My friend just bought a second hand car and wanted to get it detailed, can you pm me the discount code please, thanks.

Also to the "Detailing Shed" do detailing for you? Or is it only products?

If anyone can recommend a good detailing company for me I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

This is a group buy for the actual polishing machine/polish etc.

Since you've posted on a group buy thread where the offer is being given by Detailing Shed, it would be very rude of me to recommend anyone else!

Really looking forward to getting this now! Nice one lads, been wanting one of these for ages!

Right guys but of an update.

    It's not happening.

    Only messing.
Should expect delivery the week after next, slightly later than expected, however, some payments weren't made until Wednesday which caused the delay and they have to come from France.

But he hopes that it'll be early in the week after next rather than late in the week!:)

What has everyone else ordered with there 5% discount?

    I'm thinking;
Claybar, I will use isopropyl and water mix for lubricant.
Plast RX for my foggy headlights.

Is there anything else I should use add to this for a beginner detailing session?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,876 ✭✭✭Scortho

Id get iron cleanse and a good wax.
the bilt hamber clay bar can be used waterless.
Have you tried toothpaste on you fogs?

Id highly recommend getting a good wash mit, they're well worth the outlay and this
    http://www.detailingshed.com/drying-towels/114-microfiber-madness-dry-me-crazy.html

Curran convinced me a while ago to buy one and at the time I was doubtful about spending so much on a towel, but when you use it, you'll think its the best thing since sliced bread.
They'll last for years as well, so worth it

I was going to get the finis was, however i still have a good half tub of xxx hardcore so that will do for the moment.
Its only 5% so I aint going to moan about losing 50 cent in a few months time. Curran can keep it as a tip!:P

It can be used using only water as lube! Don't rub it on dry paint

Well I'm glad we cleared that up :D I still use water with a bit of car wash soap in it because it makes it a bit slicker.

I can't wait to get this DA now :):)

    Me too.
I've been putting off washing the car properly (de-tar, deironise, clay and wax) for a good month at this stage.

I love the way "deironise" only appears as a misspelling for "dionise" on Google. Buzzwordery of the highest order.

Beading is similar. As is detar. Although my iPhone autocorrects to that.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna pick out a shampoo, wash mit, claybar and good wax.

I think I have a tar remover already.

Now all I need is the time and weather to use it all!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 113 ✭✭peejay01

    Got my DA today!

Nice touch with the free lolly Curran!

Now just have to hope for some good weather and clean enough space in the garage in the hope that I can cram the car in there and get to work.

Oh yeah and some more cleaning products...

Think I did this whole thing backwards, DA first and then cleaning products last

Ah well ill get there in the end!
