Hi

I have the above box about a year however in more recent times i find i am having to do a manual terrestial scan on a daily basis.

it usually happens between the channels rte news, rte jnr and rte +1. Usually in the format the screen freezes on rte news and we have the sound from rte jnr. a quick manual terrestial scan and all sorted

Is it a software issue any ideas suggestions would be great.

Alma2300 series have no channels at moment box top reading no channels,dont know what to do:mad:

Nothing at all? Is the box connected to a dish for satellite tv & an aerial for terrestrial services? You had Irish & UK channels before they all disappeared?

going to do a blind scan later to see if i can improve my mux 2 channels reception. However in the country set up there is no ireland, does this matter ? and should lcn be on or off? tks

Completely wipe the current saved terrestrial channels.

Turn LCN off. Scan the 2 muxes manualy. Delete the channels that you dont want ie the SD version of RTE1. Do the scan after 7pm.

at the moment i am having problems with the saorview scan could be something small so i will reserve judgment.

I got the alma in august 2012 along with the triax box when i was going saorview/ fta. I didn't know anything about boxes etc at the time.

The box retails for €100 now and my brother has one and my neighbour they are not into satellites etc so it does exactly what they need it for irish and uk fta channels. i have mine hooked up to saorview astra 28, astra 19, hotbird 13 and eventually eurobird at 9e.

me i can't criticise it. Its a good basic into box if that all you need it for. So overall i'm happy with it. just need to sort out the saorview scan etc.

guys, how does one go about transferring your saved channels list from an existing box to a new box? would prefer not to have to do a full rescan and reorder.

ya got one there but having trouble figuring how to scan saorview,
as the only country options are france italy and a few others,
so where would i select to scan

hdmi connection to the tv
go to menu
installation
ok go into terrestrial automatic scan
country Germany
turn lcn off
the channels will arrive in but not in order and you need to arrange them.
let me know how you get on

as per my previous post, i picked up a second hand alma box yesterday as the above issues were annpying me and set it up, it was after 7pm so when i did the terrestial blind scan it picked up rte +1.

Anyway this morning same issues no rte jnr unless i rescan it in manually there seems to be a problem going from rte +1 and rte jnr.

yes i know they broadcast a different times but there should be a seamless transition up and down the channels.

Could it be a signal issue? going to set the alma box up in a different room this evening to see how it works there.

I have country on automatic terrestrial scan as Germany and lcn off.

hit ok/list button in the centre of remote

a dialog box comes up with all satellite on top

if not use the key to the right of the ok list

I can see sky news on the list but when you press the button to view "scrambled" appears on the screen. Plus I don't know if any one else's rte hd reception is awful. It keeps cutting out.

i assume you have a dish and aerial.

i would say you have a dish issue, the scarmbled icon is a red box on the screen, correct

but if you hit info button on the remote it doesnt have a dollar sign befoe sky news as in $skynews?

Yes the scrambled red icon appears on the screen. There is no dollar sign before sky news.

It was working up until I did the automatic terrestrial scan.

i don't know how a terrestial scan could affect your sat scan,,,,,,,,,,

what are your irish channel reception like and are they in order 1-8

They are all there but scanned in at the end of the channel listing. I.e. they arrived in on number 325 etc. I know how to move them so that's not an issue.

I have scanned all the channel listings and the only sky news is the one that appears scrambled.

Just annoying. I would rather sky news than rte 1.

I was wondering if you can help me I cant get the channels from the satellite. My friends box got reset we got the irish channels back ok but cant get the foreign ones from the satellite. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

turn on the box and get rte 1

press ok button

blue dialog box comes up says terrestrial on the top

press button to the right and satellite comes up

press button gain until all satellite comes up

u should then have all your channels irl and uk

Its only giving all channels and dvbd
That was after pressing right twice.

blue dialog box comes up but does not say terrestrial
it says all channels
then dvbt

Satellite is not coming up.

My friend restored factory settings so satellite channels are gone
So the satellite connection needs to be set up again.

Hi, can anyone tell me how I would get into the TP List, instructions are really hard to follow.

have you listed your satellites in satellite list

Sounds like its a firmware issue, ya should update your firmware & make sure your antenna has a clear line of sight to your local transmitter
