Have you got the right power connectors connecting the PSU to the card?

Could be alright, Process of elimination needs to be done. download and run Intel burn test, and run MSI Afterburner and/or GPU-Z while your running the test and monitor temps, see what you get?

If everything is ok, your psu could be faulty

Nvidia have had problems with their drivers of late so it maybe whats causing your problem.

What drivers are you using now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

    Version 320.49 WHQL

    Thats very odd,try safe mode.

Any problems when running just the generic VGA drivers before you installed the Nvidia ones?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

absolutely no problems with generic drivers in windows 7 or 8 , cant access safe mode with windows 8 for some strange reason , il just reset my pc (strange ...it says a required drive partition is missing when i try to reset it)

That would point towards drivers then hopefully and not a hardware fault.

As for the win 8 problem i'm clueless :P
Here is the first thing i found on how to do it.

I found how to fix the windows 8 problem ... Installing windows seven seems to be the solution :P haha ...when everything is going wrong its best to laugh .. just installing windows 7 now , I am sick of windows 8

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,125 ✭✭✭game4it70

Good solution better than if all else fails find a hammer approach :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

Windows 7 is nearly installed now , once that is done , il install the driver you suggested and then get back to you

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,125 ✭✭✭game4it70

    Good luck!

you need to test that card with another PSU my friend,

Its a hard problem to narrow down, I myself have experience such issues and mainly it was down to Insufficient power, driver conflicts between hardware, RAM, etc.

    Very much a pain though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,125 ✭✭✭game4it70

    Ah ffs! :(

A pain i know but here are newer drivers again.
    http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/geforce_326_58_beta_driver_download.html

Did you try the older drivers that came on the gpu disk as they might be better by being released before the dodgy drivers.

If that dosen't work then i'd be leaning towards hardware fault.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

i also tried the drivers that came on the disk ... looking more like a GPU failure ..

I don't believe its GPU failure to be honest, id be more pointed towards at this stage !Power! or lack off

Silly question but is the 8pin atx seated well in the mobo socket?

Do you have access to another pc to test the gpu?

Psu could also be a problem.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

funnily enough , each time i tested the pc , i tested it off a an extension lead , going to plug it directly into the socket now , see does it make a difference.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

Il just check that now , i reckon i could get another pc actually ,BUT would have to use my psu

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,125 ✭✭✭game4it70

Where abouts are you located as i could lend you a psu to test if you dont get anywhere.
(provided your not miles away from me :P)

    Sligo town :P

Oops, just a little past a few miles :D

Hopefully you will get it sorted without the need of an RMA of psu or gpu.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

Just a tad :P well im trying those latest drivers you showed me , installing them now , i just dont understand why there is no problems until i run the WEI , like I played minecraft for about 30mins yesterday and tested farming simulator on windows 8 without a crash -_-

    Its just so niggly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,125 ✭✭✭game4it70

When you run WEI it does stress the gpu alot so thats why its playing up.Whats causing it is another thing altogether. It also says the screen may go blank or flicker i think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,698 ✭✭✭Gumbi

Have you connected BOTH 6 pin connectors to the graphics card?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

    @Gumbi yes i have

Is it a factory OC'ed card?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,125 ✭✭✭game4it70

Ok,its rare but sometimes the oc'ed ones need a touch more voltage.

Any luck with the latest driver?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

Windows is installing updates .. 11 of 17 :( its slow but hey,its something to do :P ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 109 ✭✭Tiernanism93

Installed updates , this time the aero theme(glass effects)were turned on but then on trying WEI it black screened , on reboot the aero theme was disabled and I cant enable it again.

Download and run Unigine valley. This will determine if it really is a GPU/PSU issue.

You need to test with another PSU in order to eliminate the problem, Im sure some of the lads on here can help u out with that

I presume thats with the newest drivers?

If you try the valley benchmark run it with Gpuz running to monitor temps.
Under sensors tab set it to max.

also im running intel burn test now and nothing out of the ordinary

I think you run the .dll name valley, not the .exe. I'm not sure though, don't have it in front of me.
