Tonight’s show starts with the ‘Doritos Jacked’ SummerSlam Kickoff Show featuring Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Vickie Guerrero, and Josh Mathews.

    Josh welcomes everyone.

Josh asks Shawn what he is looking forward to the most and Shawn says that it is the concept of SummerSlam in L.A. He is looking forward to the WWE Title Match.

Booker T says that he is looking forward to Bray Wyatt versus Kane. Booker mentions that Kane made his debut in 1997 at Bad Blood.

Vickie says that she is looking forward to the World Title Match.

Shawn agrees with Booker about how it is an uphill battle to make his debut in a Ring of Fire Match.

We see how Rob Van Dam got his match on the Kickoff Show.

Booker is asked for his thoughts on the United States Title Match. He says that Rob will have to step up in his home town and he thinks that Rob will do it.

Shawn says that people are impressed with the Shield and what they have done. We will see if The Shield is for real tonight.

Renee Young is in the Social Media Lounge and she wants people to make their predictions on social media. Renee wants people to send videos on Tout.

We take a look at the CM Punk video package that aired on Smackdown this week.

Paul Heyman is in the locker room and Josh says that this match is being compared as David versus Goliath and Paul tells him to stop and he calls the comparison preposterous. David versus Goliath is a story we tell our children that there is hope left in the world. That is not the case.

Historians say that David hit Goliath with a slingshot, but the truth is that David got in one shot but Goliath dominated David and laid him to waste. That is what will happen tonight.

Paul says that he comes up with an idea that even CM Punk will agree to. The match will be No Disqualification. CM Punk will end up a martyr tonight and he will be pushed into martyrdom by the beast incarnate, BROCK LESNAR

Josh asks how this will change the match and Booker says that it will work in Brock’s favor. Punk will not lay down. Shawn says that he was concerned about this match and he says that the no disqualification serves Punk well. He says that he did not think that Punk would have a chance against Lesnar, but this might help. Vickie says that she is afraid for Punk. Shawn says that being the smaller man helps to have a no disqualification stipulation.

We go to Tony Dawson who was outside the Staples Center earlier today. He is with two fans who came to SummerSlam with Northern Ireland.

We see people entering the seating area.

It is time to take a look at Total Divas.

Josh mentions that Total Divas will have a presence on the pay per view with Natalya versus Brie Bella.

Vickie says that she thinks Natalya will win. She wonders how Shawn or Booker know anything about Divas. Vickie says that she is proud of the product. Booker says that Brie better watch out because Natalya is a grappler and she can take down some men. Shawn says that people used to call him a diva and he says that he was a foxy dude.

We take a look at the mixed tag match and how we go to tonight.

We see Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston at Venice Beach working out. Langston talks about how his agility separates himself from others his size. AJ says that she uses the Black Widow because she doesn’t have the strength of others. She says that she has always been the champion, but now she has proof.

Renee Young is in the Social Media Lounge. She runs through some of the predictions that were submitted.

We take a look at how the WWE Title Match was set up and the build to tonight.

Josh asks Shawn if Daniel Bryan can win and Shawn says that he does think so. He likes John Cena, but he is a bit biased towards Daniel Bryan. He has known him since he was 18 and he is very talented.

Vickie says that Daniel Bryan is a fresh face.

Booker says that John Cena has been on the mountaintop a long time. Cena has made a lot of money. Is John Cena still hungry and will he step up to face Daniel Bryan.

Shawn says that John has earned everything he has gotten.

Booker and Shawn talk about getting worn down on top. Shawn and Booker say that the timing might be right for Bryan.

Booker says that if Cena chose Bryan, maybe Cena thinks that he can beat Bryan.

Vickie wonders about the motives of Triple H.

We are back with Tony Dawson outside with fans from Calgary and he asks them about what match they are looking forward to and one says that they are looking forward to the Punk versus Lesnar match.

We go to ringside for Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, and John Layfield. They talk about the matches on the show. Jerry says that Triple H is the wild card for the WWE Title match. Brilliant brilliant brilliant ending. The way they delayed the cash in so long made it. Perfectly builds Bryan as a massive face and he's doubly over having beaten Cena but also can still play the underdog chasing Orton/ HHH.

    Beautiful booked, immaculately executed.

"Paul Michael Levesque[1] (born July 27, 1969),[4] better known by his ring name Triple H (an abbreviation of his character's full name, Hunter Hearst
Helmsley), is an American professional wrestler, business executive, actor, former bodybuilder and Fúcking R*arded Massive Stupid Cùnt.
Levesque currently works in the front office of WWE as the
Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events; he appears as Triple H on television as the chief operating officer and part-time
    wrestler."
Thats HHH's wiki page from after the event(the bad attempt at Retarded is not mine btw).

    Two fantastic main events.

The undercard was a bit underwhelming though.

firstly, i think we can probably forget about stuff that happened in 2009 tbh.

but even at that, i've also no problem with them aligning anyway. it's easily explainable either way. this is HHH and Orton the businessmen. it's not a personal issue. HHH doesn't have to like Orton or vice versa for it all to make perfect sense.

Inferno match was brutal btw. Wyatt is a limited enough worker so putting him in a gimmick match in which its impossible to look good does him no good on his character's PPV debut.

Yeah it was horrendous, one of the worst matches of the year that i've seen at least.

They're doing Sandow no favours at all either jobbing him out every week.

Btw HHH can use the excuse that their 2009 WM main event feud was so forgettable even he himself forgot it.

Loved it. Easy 9/10 for me.

There were two matches I bought this PPV for. Both delivered.

Bryan vs Cena was amazing, and I am stunned, STUNNED, that Bryan got a clean-as-you-like pinfall on Cena. How many people can actually say they got to have a main event match with Cena and pinned him 100% clean? And although it was obvious something was coming (why else was HHH staying so long), the ending was brilliant. Usually I hate the endings where they give a guy his big title win and then take it off him, but it worked so well here because it facilitated Orton and HHH turning heel. I'm genuinely excited to see the reformation of Evolution (of sorts). Brilliant match, brilliant result, brilliant conclusion.

Punk vs Brock was brilliant as well. Just two guys laying into each other.
Christian vs Del Rio was great. Sandow vs Rhodes was good, and while I don't usually like the MITB holder losing, Rhodes needed the win more.

The Infe...sorry, Ring of Fire match was a disaster though. There was two things it was meant to do; keep the two guys out and give us a chance to see how scary Wyatt could be in the ring on his own. It failed both. King was hyping Wyatt up before the match, talking about his unusual style of wrestling. But he barely got two moves in during the whole match. So, to me, Wyatt came out looking useless without his two big men to do the work for him. The gimmick is awesome, but the booking of the trio in the ring has been abysmal imo.

But that was the only negative, and due to how much I enjoyed the main events, this event got an easy 9 from me.

Both times have succeeded in elevating him even more though.

D-Bryan came out of Summerslam a bonafide star, he and Cena tore the house down and he won CLEAN.

It really doesn't even matter that he lost the title, especially in the manner it was done.

Last night showed me WWE are finally prepared to back D-Bryan, and I for one am pleased about this.

    Very good show.

Wyatt/Kane match was awful,Wyatt's looking more and more like a dud imo.His timing, positioning and selling were all over the place.

Sandow/Rhodes was harmless enough, and Christian/Alberto was very good.Diva's were meh.

Punk/Brock was a fun attitude era like brawl with the right result.Didn't watch the Dolph/Aj stuff because I can't stand either of them.

Main event was fantastic, and the way the turn at the end was executed was brilliant.Really looking forward to where they go from here with Bryan/HHH/Vince and Orton.

    8/10

Ring Of Fire match wasn't that bad. Well the ending with them kidnapping Kane is what I wanted to see now he can go film See No Evil 2 and when he's done we'll get to see does he join the Wyatts or not? The ridiculous point of the match was Harper & Rowan picking up a fire retardant blanket and putting it over the flames to get in to the ring. They should of left Bray on his own.

Really enjoyed SummerSlam. Lesnar vs. Punk & Bryan vs. Cena were excellent matches. Looks like we're going to see the build to one of the biggest storylines in a long time! HHH/Orton vs. Bryan/Vince possibly??

There'd be more legs in an uneasy Vince/Bryan alliance if they plan to run this for a few months (i.e. till Mania). That said, I could easily see Vince trying to align himself with Evolution tonight, only for HHH to pedigree. Whether that's tonight or further down the line, I don't know.

I wonder will they bring Flair in; he's obviously about at the moment.

    Anyway, two questions...

    1. When was the last time HHH was proper heel?

    2. When was the last time Cena was pinned 100% clean (meaning no weapons, distractions, dusty finishes and so on)?

While I thought the Ring of Fire match was dreadful and made Bray look weak I actually think that could be more in line with his gimmick than if he had dominated Kane. He's a cult leader; doesn't their power come from an ability to use their charisma to manipulate and control others?

Flair's in the doghouse at the moment after getting pissed and making a show of himself at the video game conference on Saturday.:
Ric Flair was in rare form at Saturday night’s WWE 2K14 “30 Years of WrestleMania” symposium discussion, hosted by Jim Ross. Flair, along with Steve Austin, Paul Heyman, Mick Foley, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and Rey Mysterio, spoke about the game and told a number of entertaining stories from their careers.

Flair, however – is now in hot water with WWE management due to his conduct at the event, according to an exclusive report at 24Wrestling.com.

According to a backstage source in WWE, WWE Executives Jane Geddes and Mark Carrano were summoned by TV exec Lisa Lee to the event to remove Ric Flair from the stage while the event was still ongoing. Lisa Lee was shooting the event on her cell phone and notified WWE management that Flair appeared to be intoxicated.

Flair was said to be “out of control, profane and a total wreck.”

WWE was furious about the public display by Flair, who has been negotiating to be the good will ambassador for the company. Stephanie McMahon LeVesque personally came to the event and had to apologize to 2K Sports on behalf of WWE

They're building to a Vince vs. HHH storyline for the company and I think Bryan has been chosen to be the man to represent Vince and Orton to represent HHH. At the moment the obvious thing to happen would be Vince/HHH/Orton to align but in the long run a Vince/Bryan alliance which you'd think now is impossible could happen.

Terrific ppv. Cena, Bryan, Lesnar and Punk were all excellent and so happy to see Bryan go over clean as a whistle. I also thought Christian/Del Rio was very good, would have loved to see Christian win it.

Also didn't Orton beat Cena clean in a HIAC match a couple of years ago? Amazing that Punk never got that decisive victory over Cena.

That cash in and Triple H turn was so painfully obvious someone watching for the very first time would have known it was coming. Would have been better for Orton to leave, having decided to simply remind Bryan that he is about and waiting. The Pedigree has seemingly reclaimed the title of being the single most devastating move in the history of wrestling. There was a very, very, very, very long time between the hit and the count. If Bryan could kick out of the AA almost instantly, why couldn't he kick out following such a long rest? He was on his feet and raring to go just before hand so it's not like he was on his last legs.

Made Bryan look like a million bucks by beating Cena clean, then made him look like crap for being out cold for so long. Had he even moved yet when the show went off the air?

Lesnar vs Punk was good, but way too much of spot, wait, spot, wait for my liking. Punk no selling the ribs didn't help either. Made even worse when he decided to do the elbow drop with the chair and show almost no ill effects. Also can't wait for everyone to complain about how weak Lesnar looked, but I suspect I'll be waiting a long time. Triple H was slated when Lesnar needed the help of Heyman to beat him but last night seems to be okay because it was Punk.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought Wyatt looked like crap. He hardly got a move in until it was three on one. Not a good start for him.

Kaitlyn should have pinned AJ. Ziggler pinning Big E did nothing for either feud.

It should have been about a 9/10 show, but too much crap happened that brought it down to about a 6 for me.

Its also worth pointing out that the way the show ended, as of right now, Bryan is positioned as the one who'll be chasing and feuding with HHH and Orton.

So, last night, not only was Bryan given the clean win over Cena which only a select few have had the "joy" of, he was put into a feud with the guy who runs the company, AND whose only feuds in the last three years have been Brock and Undertaker....

yup, there's nothing about this that is bad for Bryan.

right now, he's perfectly positioned. he's not ready to be THE guy. a chase now actually builds him up even more before he gets his run.

we wrestling fans, and I include myself in this sometimes, are way too impatient.

there was a year between Stone Cold's Bret moment and his title win for instance.

Dear god man, can you ever be happy? The only thing I agree with you on is Bray Wyatt being all over the place.

Firstly, someone watching this for the first time would most certainly NOT have seen that twist coming. Heck, it was definitely the least likely of the outcomes. I was convinced it was either going to be Bryan/Cena winning clean or Bryan winning after a lengthy match, Orton trying to cash in and HHH refusing. RKO to Trips, then Bryan, Maddox comes running down and Orton wins. Cue Vince standing at the top of the stage smiling like after the "Higher Power" reveal. HHH turning on Bryan was the thing I, and many others, expected least.

As for the Lesnar vs Punk match, yes there were some great spots but there was some great wrestling and intensity in between those spots. Only thing that spoiled that a little for me was how many times Heyman got involved, and once Punk had him in the Anaconda that was the end for Punk. I truly enjoyed both that match and Punk vs Bryan. Only two matches I didn't love were the Diva's match and the Ring of Fire match (Kane looked like a beast though).

Was hmming and hawing, but gave it a 9 for the sheer quality and unpredictability of the card. Not a single person got full marks on the prediction thread, which speaks volumes.

Triple H stood there forever. Orton was obvious once Triple H over-stayed his welcome in the ring, why else would he stay? The turn was then made obvious once Orton came out and Triple H still hadnt left the ring. Again, why would he stay if he had no reason to?

Just checked, and from the Pedigree to the pin, Bryan was unconscious for 40 seconds, and hardly moved again until the show went off the air. If you're leaving it that long, he should have kicked out. Hit him with an RKO then and pin him. Leaving him dead for so long made him look like crap after all the hard work in the actual match. Had Bryan been dead on his feet beforehand, fair enough. But he wasnt. He was full of energy and challenging Orton to come into the ring.

The match was great, but what happened afterwards was so obvious and bad.
