Do you believe there are other life forms out there?

If so and from what we hear and see in movies, they are so much more advanced than we are.

Do you reckon they watch movies like Alien, Independence Day, War Of The Worlds.. Etc...

Sit there and get pissed off and call us racist because we tar them all with the one brush as killers and wanting to take over the world. When infact they could all be lovely folk.

If they are that advanced i'm sure they have no problem downloading a copy of the movies of Piratebay.

How many more movies do you think they will watch and go "FÚCK THIS" lets go kill these earth people.

The odds of other life out there is extremely high.
The odds of intelligent life are lower, but still very high.
The universe is very old, and it's likely that many highly advanced species have existed millions of years ago but have since died out. And similarly, millions of year from now they're will likely be other advanced species. It's impossible to know how many species there are out there who are similarly advanced to us. I personally believe there are at least a few.

One would hope that any species advanced enough to be able to travel the great distances between stars would have evolved socially to be a peaceful species, but there could be species so very different to use that 'peace' isn't even a concept for them. They may not even view us as 'intelligent life' (Read the book Ender's Game for a great example).

One thing I do wonder about is if their technology advanced along the same lines as ours? E.G did/do they have computers based on the same technological concepts as ours? Are there certain advanced technologies which would be common amongst all intelligent species?

There is undoubtedly life out there and more than likely intelligent life as advanced and more advanced than us. But the universe is just too big and the chances of it coexisting at the same time as us and within reach of us are very very small. The human race will never encounter another intelligent lifeform imo. Finding some traces of bacteria in our solar system will be the extent of us coming into contact with alien life.

I just can't imagine that in this vast universe. We'd be the only life in it. There has to be other life out there somewhere. Maybe not like the Aliens we see on tv. Maybe lifeforms that are just like humans with similar technology to ours but from another planet.

That being said, I don't know if we'll ever find out for sure. They are probably trillions of light years away. We'd never be able to reach them. Not unless we become so advanced that our technology would allow us to. But that would take another 1000 or more years to achieve. I'll be an old man by then

Your idea of being advanced is that they can download a copy off piratebay? Jesus christ they wouldn't possess the same technology such as a computer to download it or even still have access to our internet networks, due to the fact that its on a completely f'ucking different planet. I too like to ponder this. What would they look like also, given that their evolutionary line would be different. How would the conditions on the planet shape them and how they act. Same could be said for behaviour, they might have a whole different range of emotions as well and might not even experience or be able to grasp our emotions and behaviour. How would they communicate, could the need for communication through language be unique on earth, maybe they don't have a need for communication at all?

I think it's very arrogant to assume that this is the only planet in he universe that supports life. There is life on other planets in one form of another. There are too many stars and planets for there not to be. Of course, I can't say that with 100% confidence nor can I say the sun will rise tomorrow.

Yes, I believe there is life out there. Mathematically it seems implausible that we are alone. Even 20 years ago or so scientists believed that maybe one in a 10 million stars had planets around them, now they reckon it's about 1 in 10 and that planets may well outnumber stars. I believe there is life much more advanced than us out there.

Are they going to be about human height with two eyes, ears, arms and legs and basically humanoid (*cough*Startrek*cough*)? No, I don't think so.

Are they visiting and abducting rednecks or are they going to destroy us? Unless we are fundamentally wrong about Special Relativity, I don't think so.

I think we will find conclusive proof of extraterrestrial life within the next 40 years. It may be some kind of artificial signal (Like we have been sending out for decades) or analysis of extrasolar planets' atmospheres or even simply evidence of microbial life on Mars or Europa etc. (I'd be happy with even that)

I had a dream few years ago that there were creatures living in the stratosphere (or whatever you call it) above the earth, it was like it was an undiscovered ocean of species like jellyfish, but they weren't jellyfish they were like clouds, with sentience and no body could see them because no one had really been up there. Best way I could explain it.

I never did and still don't but I believe in Alien abuductions but I believe Travis Walton is not lying and that he fully believes that he was abducted. The film Fire In The Sky was based on his accounts.

Now, maybe he's insane or was hypnotized / brainwashed, but whatever the reason, that guy sure tells an amazing tale about when he feels he was abducted.

There were some really great interviews with him by Larry King and Oprah etc back in the 80s but they have never been uploaded.

Seriously though, it`d be incredibly self centered of us to think we`re the only life form in an enormous unfathomable universe , but if there were any aliens out there I`d imagine they`re hiding from us until we get our act together.
