Where can I get the Pill with my medical card in Dublin? (Not from GP)

My GP wont prescribe me the pill, had a thread about it before

I haven't been back to my GP to ask again. To be honest I'm too afraid to, I hate the woman :(

I have a full medical card. Is there somewhere I can go to get the Pill with it without having to pay the consultation fee? AFAIK another GP won't see me unless I'm a paying patient. A Meridian clinic or something like that? Around Blanch or anywhere in Dublin

Find another GP, seriously. This is the only thing you can do to ensure your peace of mind.

All the practices I've been to so far have said they're not taking on any more medical card patients, just paying patients. The Meridian in Roselawn said they'll on take me on with a medical card if I become a regular patient first i.e make plenty of paid visits over the next year!!

Get onto your Local Health Office or the Medical Card Office* and lodge a complaint against the GP, in the meantime is there another doctor at the practise you can go to? Or tell the GP that you insist she refers you to another doctor. I know it's hard but if you do it now it's done and you never have to see her again.

IME it's near impossible to find someone to take you, I had to pay full price when I couldn't get to my GP.

Would the family planning clinic not see you?

If it's a repeat prescription & you have €25 plus the cost of a months supply you could get a prescription from Llyods Online Doctor. Not ideal if you're relying on a medical card but you can just pick up a months supply at a time from the chemist to spread out the cost and it might get you out of a hole till you can find a new GP

Another GP can see you as a once off as a "temporary visitor" without having to change your GP. Ring another GP practice and ask to see them as a once off as your GP doesn't believe in prescribing the pill. Shouldn't be a problem.

    Thanks, I'll do that!
