Trailer Lights??

    Hi folks,

Just looking for opinions on lighting for my boat trailer. I have 21" Bayliner that I usually trailer all the time. (Sea water where I live is disgusting with untreated sewage). The trailer has american lights fitted to it, but not working. Since I've had my boat I've used trailer boards or magnetic lights (bulb type), but neither of these has been a very good solution. The trailer boards have ended up broken (usually falling in the garage when not in use) and the magnetic lights lasted about five dips in the water before the metal contacts corroded beyond use. I know I should probably have taken off the magnetic lights before reversing into the water, I did disconnect the power from them.

What I would like to do is fit new lights permanently onto the trailer, and preferably LED's. Have you come across anything suitable that you would recommend for the trailer? Surely there are some lights out there suitable for salt water immersion?

    Thanks.

I swapped the lights on my trailer board for LED's and have had no problems leaving them on while launching, you can get the proper ones here http://www.parnells.ie/parnell.swf but I got cheeper ones from a local motor factors.

I got a good deal on ones off ebay, and have served me well for 3 yrs now. Never have to unplug the lights, just reverse straight into the water. Will never go back to non led lights again....
