    Hi all .

Im starting to restore (fix up) :) a boat I have bought . Its a fibreglass single skinned one. Its 14' 6" long and about 5' wide at its widest. I have it all sanded down inside and out . The fibre glass is in good condition its just it has a few very small holes on the outside coating . Not all the way through the fibreglass . Im just wondering if someone can tell me is ok just to fill these with filler and repaint or should they be filled and then some sort of epoxy put all over to waterproof it .

Im sure you can tell im a novice at this so any help or information would ne greatly appreciated

    Thanks all

    GH

Hi GH welcome to the world of boats :) To fill the holes you will need plastic padding or a gelcoat repair kit you can get it in any marine shop also to paint fiberglass it will need to be primed first I use Pre-Kote as it's a one part primer so no need for mixing.

dnme's sticky is worth a look with lots of info on filling holes :Dhttp://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056217528

Don't keep us waiting post them as you go along :) that way we might spot something that needs to be addressed before you finish.
