Was hoping to do a quick check on local prices, but got the message 'Account Suspended'. Anyone know what's up?

All apps that you download (not standard apps that are part of your operating system) can be deleted off your phone

I just tried using the App and thought that it was my Version not working after a recent upgrade. Re-installed it and it wouldnt work so went onto the Laptop and found that the pumps.ie website has been suspended. Well hopefully it'll be working by the morning. Have to go on a bit of drive tomorrow and was hoping to check the cheapest place to fill up on the route. Ah well.

I am getting message that my account was suspended, not that website is down. I have been using it at the same time from PC and phone. Can this be a reason? Anyone know how to reinstate it? I can't even get in touch with webmaster.

    Hi Selsun,
I developed and maintain the Pumps.ie Android app. I'm sorry that the app is currently not working, but with the main Pumps.ie website down, the app cannot retrieve the data it needs.

When the website is back up the app will work also. I'm not an admin or anything over on the website so I don't know exactly why the site has been suspended.

    Regards
    Ed

It looks like the hosting service (Digiweb) has frozen the account.

Went to the station up the road this morning (usually one of the cheapest in the country) and made a note of the prices - now bitterly disappointed to find pumps.ie is down and I can't share them with the world!

Is there anywhere else to share price info?

    Hi Ed,

Thanks for info. I got a bit worried as it said my account was suspended rather than saying website was down. Anyway, now it's back up an running :)

This is whats showing pumps.ie website

    Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server
If you can see this page, then the people who manage this server have installed cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) which use the Apache Web server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully. They now have to add content to this directory and replace this placeholder page, or else point the server at their real content.

    ATTENTION!

If you are seeing this page instead of the site you expected, please contact the administrator of the site involved. (Try sending an email to <webmaster@domain>.) Although this site is running cPanel, WebHost Manager, and Apache software it almost certainly has no other connection to cPanel Inc. or the Apache Group. Please do not send mail about this site or its contents to cPanel Inc. or the Apache Group.

    About cPanel:

Haven't been on pumps.ie in a while and just tried logging on to check some petrol prices and it's not working. Anyone know if they're gone for good?

Noticed this morn that the pumps.ie website and app are down.

Hope this is only a temporary glitch, but the author of that page has been neglecting it recently.

A great resource, shame if it goes.

It was down for much of yesterday too. It says the account is suspended.

    It's rubbish anyway.

It's so reliant on users input that it's generally unreliable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 TheBiff

Unreliable? I disagree. Because it was so easy for users (incl. myself) to post updates, I found it great and usually up to date. It was also brilliant when away from home to find where the nearest Filling Stations were and what they were likely to be charging. I hope it comes back soon.

it had its flaws, but over all, it was a good service, and an app i always kept and used on my phone

    Perhaps it has improved so.

I tried to give it a good run but frankly just got fed up with it's unreliability

The problem isn't pumps.ie, its the userbase.... plenty of useful things are equally reliant on user input

I think this happened before. Site hosting issue. Hopefully it will be back. While it's certainly not perfect, I can't see any other way that data from filling stations could be available for us to use. Not like the filling stations are going to do it for us.

If it's not accurate, make it accurate. Only takes a second to correct a price.

its one of the apps that was preloaded onto my phone when i bought it off emobile. It cant be removed which is really annoying. for this reason i would not use it. dont think forcing alps onto phones does anything for the brand

I think that is an issue with emobile not pumps.ie. Have you also boycotted emobile?

I wouldnt think emobile would preload an app without getting somthing for it.
To answer the other replier 100 % possitive its on my phone  along with adverts.ie, the now defunt boards deals app and the journal app. I spoke with provider and other people in the know they cant be removed. If you check online other people have the same issue

Still saying "This account has been suspended". By whom I don't know.

I remember a few years ago it happened to I think the fee for the domain name wasnt paid and it was took down.
Same has happened this year by looks of it only thing is the site was being neglected by the owners as hadn't been a price forcast put up since janurary.

Pity really thought it was a great site and contributed to it on a daily basis

Really used quite a lot - as others have said, useful when in other counties

What we really need in an official fuel prices website like http://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/ where all fuel retailers are required by law to post their current prices.
