There is a youth disco on in my area in the next half an hour. I saw walking through the down after going to the carnival ride with a few kids. On my way back I seen a young one filling her lucozade bottle with Bulmers. Should I have taken the drink off this young one.

I know as an adult I should of but I didn't want to be attacked by a gang of young ones taking the drink off.

    FFS.

Father Cena to the rescue. You should have seized the contraband and given them four Hail Marys' and 8 Our Fathers'.

Better they learn about drink now than when they're older with easier access and more funds.

Good to hear of your concern Cena, I would not recommend going over though, maybe take a little detour home past the disco and tell the guys at the door/ organisers a description of her, maybe even ring the local station too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 849 ✭✭✭IrishLad90

If you know one of them then say ill be telling your mother, will give them a fright and they will be a lil more careful.
Other than that leave them well enough alone.

If they're old enough to be at a youth Disco at midnight, They're old enough for a few cans. Leave them at it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 988 ✭✭✭1shot16

16 in Germany 18 here and 21 in America the right age is the age to know your limit...let em have their few cans :D

Seriously OP, don't do that. They'd probably laugh at you anyway.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,516 ✭✭✭wazky

How do you know it wasn't Lucozade they were pouring from the can of Bulmers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54 ✭✭Dublinmackem

Ah here, well then you don't have to take the detour, approach someone, or maybe it's better we wait until they vomit and/or collapse then you can call the ambulance and let them take up a hospital bed for the night,

Of course every can of Bulmers consumed under the age of 18 results in a stomach pump in the hospital.

Jesus we were all young once. It's a can of Bulmers, not a gun.

OP is stewarding at the disco? Oh sweet jesus it's one of those underage disco's. The ones that are 'organised' by foróige or something like that. Jees give them a few naggins, they'll need it if it's being supervised like that. I remember one where I had to go to the girls jacks just for the shift it was that uptight. Where's the romance in that like?

Never needed an ambulance and a stomach pump myself when I was teenage drinking.

Yeah. We used to pump our own stomachs back in the day!

If we needed an ambulance we were thrown into an old pram and pushed to the hospital.

If she is stewarting at the disco then she has a duty of care, that means not ignoring it and dealing with it or passing it on to someone of higher or equal importance, kids drinking is a serious issue, speak to any A&E nurse about it and their replies wouldn't be "well I never needed a pump" anyway I'm going for a can bulmers, goodnight. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54 ✭✭Dublinmackem

    Anyone got a lucozade bottle?

You know what, even if they do get pumped.. Isnt learning from experience the best way to learn?

When I was going out to teenage discos (Oasis nightclub in Monaghan) over 45mins on a bus away (im only 27 so only 12/13 yrs ago)
It would start at 9ish and finish at 12 and then you would get the bus home.

Bottles of Vodka, Yokes, Hash, Beer you name it was consumed from meeting up at 6 untill you got off the bus and there be a stash of drink at home for when you returned.

Not once has anyone who was on the bus needed an ambulance or any help other than a few folks vomiting (usually the girls)

A can of bulmers would be the equivalent to water back then
