Small meals/snacks

I'm looking for some good small meals/snacks to have as part of my diet.

At present a typical day for me is as follows:

Morning: Chicken, tomato and a boiled egg
Lunch: Salad (selection of ham, chicken, salmon, tomato, lettuce, cheese, scallions etc...)
Evening: Meat (chicken or beef generally) or salmon, some veg and wholegrain rice/potatoes

I also generally have a protein shake.

I also build in an additional boiled egg mid morning when possible.

I tend find myself craving something sweet in the evening around 8 and am struggling to come up with something that would be ok.

I don't eat nuts or dried fruits.

I had started having a smoothie at some stage during the day but the fructose is probably not ideal.

I'm looking to get down to 10% bodyfat, I'm around 14/15% at the moment.

High percentage cocoa dark choc? I have 2 squares of 85% dark choc from Tesco after my dinner most days! Fairly low in sugar and damn tasty! That's something sweet.

I have cottage cheese and oat cakes/corn cakes as a wee snack too.

I think dark chocolate might be the answer. I'm not a huge fan dark chocolate but a couple of squares might hit the spot.

Anything I could replace the almond meal with in the chocolate chic version?

For lunch I just had a small bowl of cottage cheese with a diced roasted red pepper mixed into it. 3 red plums for dessert. I find that protein based meals keep me fuller for longer and I don't eat as much....therefore I lose weight.

Have you tried ostrim? I find it really tasty and handy for a snack.

Or this little snack I posted in another thread is delicious from time to time.

I do it with dark chocolate and add in some chocolate whey protein.

Never heard of ostrim before but after a bit of Googling I get the impression that the jury is still out on it, with doubts about the quality of the ingredients and the fact that not all ingredients are listed on the package.

The snack you have posted looks very nice though. What sort of chocolate would you use as regards sugar content? My cooking skills are very much in the novice category but this looks doable, even for me.

I don't know Ostrim seems fine to me holding a box here it does give a list of the ingredients and nutritional facts on the back of the box. I showed it to my personal trainer who had ever heard of it either he thought it was fine and loved them himself and has since started buying boxes for himself, the teriyaki flavour is my own personal favorite.

Each stick contains 80 calories and 14g of protein and only 3g of carbs it make for a perfect tasty snack.

To be honest I can't remember what brand of dark cooking chocolate I used. It is quite simple to make really that's the beauty of it, Ive only done it once myself but will be doing it again. Others in the squats the story off topic thread even made cakes out of it.
