I am deeply fearful of dentists but need to bite the bullet and make an appt. Would anyone know a very gentle, patient dentist in Rathfarnham/Knocklyon/Templeogue/Tallaght or anywhere near to those areas who they could highly recommend please?! Thanks

I went to Smiles in Dundrum. There is actually a box you can tick on their form that says something like "Are you a nervous patient?" - I found them really reassuring and gentle. I would highly recommend going there.

Dundrum Dental - Paul O Donnell, excellent.

FTR there are US style dentists where you are knocked out so to speak before the procedure - might be something to look at.
