My Midway has 3/4 inch mdf and joystick screws straight into the wood from underneath.
I removed happ and put a Sanwa JLW in.

I am pretty sure all Sega candy cabs allow JLF sticks with no mounting plates.
You will have to connect the up/down/left/right and ground wires from the Edge connector/IPAC to a 5 pin connector which then connects to every JLF stick..

I have one spare if you need it,and the pins as well.
