Simplest way is to get an Apple TV and use AirPlay. Is it a SMART TV with some form of network connection ? There are a few ways to serve media from the Mac but you'll need some way to connect the TV to your network.

You mention HDMI so it's possible you just want to connect your MBA to your TV ? A Mini Display Port to HDMI cable would do it ?
