    How about You?

AH Answer: Properly! Now get back in the kitchen.

    Real answer. *adjusts monocle*

A nice NY strip of bison sealed in a plastic bag and water bathed at 130°F (54.4°C) for about an hour and a half then seared in a scorching pan for about 20 secs a side whilst I blow torch it with an industrial blowtorch.

I like that on top of a Celeriac and Yukon Gold potato mash and a side of sauted portobello mushies please. A nice Californian Merlot will do nicely thanks.

Well when I was younger I would have always said well done but as I got older I found that it it being rare or median rare was nicer because it was more juicy and tender.

I always order it blue but I'll eat it rare without complaining.

Rare is as cooked as I'll go though.

    Or blue. Whichever is convenient.

And some mushrooms & fried onions on the side

Medium rare. I hated steak growing up because my mom cooked it the way she liked it, well done. I thought it was chewy and tasteless. Then my friend introduced me to medium rare and a love affair was created.

rare, a nice onion marmalade/ garlic butter on the side, I hate steak covered in sauce.

Pretty much the same for me, my mam has actually sent back steak in restaurants for not being well done enough (She likes it cremated). I usually go medium.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

slightly singed with evidence of a pulse. So blue ta very mucho. Depends entirely on the cut and quality of the meat mind you, so for the crapper stuff then yea, cook it a bit more.

She probably has no idea what well done actually means.

Why the hell go to a restaurant and pay them to ruin a piece of meat?

I order it rare, still mooing, to be on the safe side, as it will be served to me medium /medium rare. I like it pink, juicy, pepper sauce optional, with a side of buttery mash & gravy.

Medium rare, which I only get if I do it my self. Don't think I have every gotten a steak cooked the way I want it in Ireland

Shanahan's on the Green. Get someone else to pay.

I like a slightly pink on the inside to well done steak.

2.5 mins either side on a scorching pan and let to rest in an oven on low heat for 4 minutes.

Cooked through and still juicy. There are ways to cook steak well done properly with out drying it out and burning it.

I'll have a bottle of Bordolino with mine aswell!

Pink in the middle, juices well sealed in and lashings of brandy pepper sauce.
With a decantered Amarone or Barolo, depending on mood.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

Medium, on a bed of champ, deep fried onion rings, garden peas, steak cut chips on the side, and a serving of pepper sauce.

If I ever visit France again, cremated, or the chicken.

Mysef & OH got beautiful rare steak in Kilford Arms, Kilkenny. Amazing, cooked perfectly. Went back the next night because we were practically dreaming about it, but alas, over done. Disappoint. :( I knew it had to have been a fluke. Seems 99% of Irish chefs haven't a clue what the levels are. Rare is almost always served medium & blue just doesn't exist here.

Well done in a ciabatta with home cooked chips, garlic mayo & a side salad.

    YUM

I'd go for rare, but had it cooked perfectly in plenty of places in ireland. Don't go to shítholes!
Sauce on the steak is another big no-no. It should always be served on the side in a ramekin or something. Even when cooking it at home.

Medium rare with some garlic butter on the side. Never on the steak.
