From Netflix UK & Ireland Twitter account:

"It's almost time to cook - the final season of #BreakingBad is coming to Netflix on August 12. New episodes every Monday."

    I can not wait!

That's actually sweet as. No downloading or waiting required! I wonder will they come in at twelve?

Is this on Netflix Ireland or just the US version?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,088 ✭✭✭OU812

Are they going to put them all up at once, or do it by the week?

    Read the OP again ;)

Really great if it is Netflix Ireland, although the HD streaming on it is poor even on a good conection.
Might be sticking with the HD rips...

Netflix UK & Ireland too. Saw a snippet of an interview when Vince Gilligan was saying how the UK fans can enjoy the episodes so soon after it airs in the US

They go up every Monday. Week to week basis.

Well that's a pleasant surprise. Was expecting to have to watch the final 8 episodes on a torrent but this will do nicely.

Not sure i can trust them not to cut stuff.

Isn't just UK and Ireland. US netflix won't be getting it at the same time.

    Why would they cut stuff?

Why would you think that? Breaking Bad has nothing that would need to be cut and Netflix shows some fairly hard core content far far more extreme than anything ever shown in Breaking Bad.

They stuck a bra over the boobs in episode 1. And they completely cut the scene where Walt had to clean his student's car at the carwash.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

The DVD versions sometimes have different edits as well. But I dont think its happened since the first 2 seasons.

Were they also cut though from the original TV edit? I recall the first episode that aired on AMC also having fuzzed out bits in the first episode (same scene I believe) and words cut. So it's a difference I reckon between the TV cut (which we'll get) and the DVD cut but not a difference between the US cut and the Ireland cut.

I don't think the American Netflix will get Breaking Bad at all. They still haven't got the first half of season 5 and BB is aired on AMC. AMC wouldn't allow Netflix to broadcast it so soon.

Does anyone know how long it normally takes an episode to have captioning written if its not supplied with the video

Perhaps you're right. I originally watched the first series on DVD and then noticed the differences when I rewatched them on netflix.

Just to clear things up, Netflix episodes = same as broadcast usually.
Only when it gets to DVD/BD is it uncut.

I've seen the first episode of this(Don't worry, no spoilers from me :pac: ) and I'm extremely excited to re-watch it and the rest of the season.

Fair play to NetFlix putting them up as they air, it'll certainly make it easier to watch!

I'm also terribly sad that this is ending.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,841 ✭✭✭lertsnim

It is sad but also good that it ends on a high (hopefully). Dexter is an example of a show that should have ended a few years ago but carried on and became very poor.

Can't wait to see it :)

Well I'm happy to give Netflix my €7.99 a month to see it, even if Sky or any other channel had purchased the rights and showed it the next day. HD and commercial free is a major win. I really hope this becomes a trend for Netflix and imported TV Shows.

I didn't let myself watch any of season 5 until yesterday because I knew I wouldn't be able to handle the wait.

Just finished ep 8 and I think these 4 days are now gonna be worse than it would have been if I just had watched them when they came out...

    Roll on Monday!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,104 ✭✭✭ryaner777

Anyone know from what time on monday it'll be shown at ?

will it be 12.01 am ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,593 ✭✭✭theteal

So should this work even if you're just taking up the free first month of netflix?

Yeah, but there's eight episodes so that's the best part of two months - you'd have to renew to watch them all as they come out.

Usually these shows don't be shown in America until 2 or 3 am our time, so it won't be until after that anyway.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, getting soooooo excited now! :D

So delighted I don't have to watch a crappy quality download. BB has great cinematography that deserves proper viewing.

    Shrewd move by Netflix!

Will they up at midnight on Monday?

I was under the impression that they're going live on netflix at the end of the actual broadcast which is 2am here. I would guess it'll be live at 3am then?

Can't wait...might watch a few episodes from last season (well same season) just to jog memory and get ready for it all :)

Well worth the effort - I watched the first 8 of this season again last weekend. Lots of stuff I'd forgotten about as well as a damned good reason to waste eight hours.
