    Can we have some details?
    Hair colour, anything?

    Fucking dutch quitters.

In the days before google and twitter and facebook, etc, all I had was the first name of a woman I met in a bar and that she worked as an MD at a prison. Through incessant bluffing and spoofing and social engineering I managed to get her last name AND connected to her on the ward where she was working. The reason I went for it was because I knew she was interested....she left a message on my answering machine but the number she left for her beeper (pager) got all garbled on the tape and was indecipherable. I hunted the lady down though.

If I had a brief bit of info about this Helena I'd have her found in hours.

These are all the people I can find that match your description, however none of them have Dublin as their current city.

    Helena's on Facebook

    Hope it helps.

How do I get any closer?

Im trying but I can't find her...

I WILL send you a crate of Dutch beers and some other specialities (however Irish people will most likely hate Dutch beer like English stubborns?

Apologise for suggesting we are anything like English people, and I will tell yo exactly how to find her.

You are Dutch, in Germany, and met someone from Barcelona but is Irish from Dublin?
Are you sure this is what happened?
    I'm wondering the same thing.

Elena, Helena, Ellena, I've looked up so many but I give up, hope I'll see her next year.. Thanks people, love your input and efforts (L)

In fairness, now that we know there is somebody called Elena that will put out at a festival, and you don't have to worry about calling here afterwards, there may be a queue

    You frighten me.

I'm sorry. ;) I guess it's normal to fall in love with people living in Ireland, so there IS a difference :D

I'm Dutch and I met a Spanish girl who lives in Ireland. We met at a festival in Germany. ;)

I will write the metro herald as last resort..

I suggest paying someone in Dublin to walk around with a sandwich board with your story on it. http://www.signshopper.net/store/images/P/Wearable_Sandwich_Sign.jpg

There's an Helena registered on the Dublin/Spanish language meetup site here (no pic though) - http://www.meetup.com/dublines/members/47676852/

Might be worth trying to contact her OP??

You could ring 2FM radio and ask if Hector instead of shaming himself calling out birthday greetings to toddlers who don't understand anything of it except their names if he'd do an 'I lost his/her phone number but here is what i remember about him/her and if anybody recognises the details could they get in touch' slot in his show. Better for him to be a partial pimp than the humiliation of reading out birthday requests. :D

I think you have to be a subscriber to be able to see the online addition.

    I miss you, Elena, the
    Spanish goddess from
    Ireland. We talked, but we
    lost each other looking for
pen and paper at the Melt!
    festival. Everything was
    pretty, from your skin to
    your nose-ring. Contact me.
    Ivo

Wait...so they didn't actually exchange contact details, they lost each other when they were 'looking for pen and paper' to exchange contact details?!?!?

Sorry OP, she ran away. You've lost my sympathy. Now it's getting a bit stalker-ish.

    Where did he say that?

    Where did he say that?

In the Metro ad. "We talked, but we lost each other looking for pen and paper at the Melt festival."

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,045 ✭✭✭✭gramar

Hey, I met this Irish person in Germany at the Melt! festival and we shared our contact details, but my suitcase got lost.

He implies in the first post that the contact details were in the suitcase.
He's never mentioned in any post that he never actually managed to get those details but the metro add says that they were about to but that's when they got separated. (or she escaped!)

    Some conflicting information there.

Well if that's true it changes everything!

Wonder thought if the metro just stole that from here and re-jigged it a bit. Wouldn't surprise me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭Sandypants

eh she prob goes to our well known tourist spot...coppers.... seen aload of them Spaniards in there the other nite with their back packs on!! and sure the easiest way to get over someone is to get under someone new...& you'll easily do that in coppers!!

I found her! She wasn't exactly from Dublin in the end. :$ Though my post in the metro did its work! Thanks guys, you Irish people are awesome! The Metro tip was the best I could have ever had!

I'm going to Ireland with 2 friends next month already! :D:D happy!

Oh and by the way.. The herald DID in fact change my original email... Apparently they want to make a nice story instead of people finding eachother, but it worked anyway :)
