F1 Competition Round 10 - Hungary

antodeco

Entries must be submitted before the start of qualifying (1pm Saturday). No Exceptions.

Please ensure you answer all 10 questions individually.

Please also include your answer to the final TWO question, what will be the fastest lap, and who will be in the top three below.

Closest to the time gets an additional 25 points. In the case of two people posting the same time, or if there is an equal distance between two individually posted times, the person who posted first will be deemed the winner. To remove the issues from the last race, any edits to times made after 1 hour of the original posting/after commencement of qualifying will be disqualified.

The person(s) to guess the top three, get an additional 100 points. These points are available to all.

All results are final at the start of qualifying.

I wonder if Rosberg should be included in the poll as a possible winner, rather than just 'any other driver'. He's just as likely to win a race as Hamilton is, & the difference between them is 15 points. Maybe remove Webber from the list, & he could then fall under 'Any Other Driver'?

Also, 100 points for guessing the podium seems a lot.

It is a lot of points, but chances are no one will get it right.
Picking the first 3 cars in the correct order, would get you very high odds in a bookies and compared to the points awarded for the other correct answers, I think 100 points seems right.
For instance picking Vettel to win can get you 20 points, and just checked an online bookmaker who are offering evens for him. I am sure predicting the first 3 drivers would get you better than 5 to 1. And it is definitely more than 5 times harder to get right.
If you look over the last few races no one has predicted the podium correctly.

Your prediction might blast you ahead of us all!

Not sure if I like the fact that you can choose the same drivers and finishing order as another person has posted. It'll mean some leaders will start shadowing towards the end of the season.

What if, if you guess the podium, instead of giving a set amount of points...it just doubles the points tally you scored in that poll. So if you get 40 points, & then guess the podium, your tally becomes 80? That way it still rewards actual knowledgeable guesses

I think that is a great compromise.
Best of both worlds, if you manage to predict the podium, chances are, that you will have got decent points from the other questions as well.

I'd personally prefer to keep it to the whole podium, guessing two is a lot easier (ie Vettel is usually one). Just my 2c

Congrats for predicting Hamilton. No way in hell did i see him winning the race, even after qualifying. i would have said that he would be lucky to be 5th.
Even Lewis was surprised how well he did.
