With the fabulous summer that we are having I am wondering what is the countries favourite ice cream / ice pop?

My all time favourite is the Ice Berger. Nothing beats it on a hot summers day. :D

I rather like Ben & Jerry's Ice Creams... particular the variety of chocolate flavour, e.g. - Brownie, or Fish Food.

Them rocket ones! They were orange and had a layer of chocolate on top of them, they were amazing

They are good, but the orange water ice stuff isn't all that nice.

Looptheloop, Feast and Brunch are prime candidates.

Had an Ice Cream Crunchie the other day - never even knew they existed. Savage! :)

Any Mr Freeze ice pops, particularly the lemon one and tropical one. Have a couple of boxes in the freezer I got from Amazon.

Fruit pastille ice pops are nice, and Mr freeze of course! even tesco cheap pops do me! I could eat them all day long.

Needs a poll, otherwise we'll just end up going round in loop the loops!

If you hadn't guess I'm a Loop the Loop man although hard to beat a feast at times.

Yep! There used to be a man who'd get one for himself and his dog in the shop up from mine, literally a block of ice cream on a stick weren't they?

    Blue or green Slush Puppy.

Fat Frogs were the business, also.

I'm partial to a Loop the Loop (although preferred the older ones) and an Ice Berger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,068 ✭✭✭Thataone

Mint cornetto or magnum but as I'm usually skint and too scabby to break notes for things like icecream my usual is a loopdeloop or wibbly wobbly wonder.

Won't say no to any other icecream though.

What's the story with Tangle Twisters/Twisters. Loads of people I know call them Twisters, but I definitely remember them being called Tangle Twisters. And it can't be an age thing because some people older, younger and the same age as me call them Twisters and others Tangle Twisters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,569 ✭✭✭✭ProudDUB

Red devils were the tits but nobody remembers them :(

I do ! My mammy wouldn't ever let us eat ice pops. She thought they were bad for our teeth. When I snuck a sneaky Red Devil, she always knew coz my gob was always bright red afterwards. :( So I switched to the white Little Angels, and she was none the wiser ! :D

Yup, can't believe we were allowed sell these, I remember them clearly, did they keep the name and change the picture or are they still around under a different name these days?

I remember them. My parents would sit on the back door step and let our dog eat one on the stick while they held it for him on a hot day. :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,635 ✭✭✭Pumpkinseeds

Snickers ice cream bars are great. I prefer a tub of Ben and Jerry's if I'm honest. I bought 2 of the 99's on Saturday, 4 fricking euro's for 2 ice creams is scandalous. We've 3 ice cream vans in this town and apparently they're charging 2.50 each for them:eek:

Never quite understood the whole 'don't break your tenner' thing. It's not gonna last forever. And it's still money regardless of format.

    I liked 'Thataway' ice pops.

I think they are different things. I think Twisters were icecream in a clear plastic tub with a dash of red and green going through it.

Tangle Twisters were the icepops. I used to lick them until it was just the red the was left on the stick.

They're back. They're just called Big Milk now.

They are the simplest, yet most satisfying ice cream/ice lolly!

Yes, they had a little golly wog on the wrapper, didnt they?
I thought they were the same as an iceberger, like ice cream between two soft biscuits, or maybe the fridge in the newsagents I went to was just crap on a hot summers day.
It seems they are like an ice cream on a stick, i cant recal what they were like now and I dont think I will get the chance either, damn.

Best has to be wibbly wobbly wonder for taste or a loop the loop, feast didnt come along till later
I forgot some others, big foot? or even just a super split

Yes, so wibbly wobbly wonder or a super split

fat frogs were the bomb also freaky foot.

    nowadays ice bergers

Would they ever consider an ice pop of just the red?
That could be amazing or very sickly
