As above from argos. Reduced from €879. Wifi dongle required. Lg dongle also half price with argos. Looks good to me!

This does seem like a really great deal. Link to TV on argos below. Great price, probably the best I've seen for a TV with these specs.

    LG LM620T 42" 3D Smart TV

Looks like a contender for bargain of the year, these are gonna walk, got 1 of 3 in my local argos, thank you OP.:D

Have the LM630T myself which the only difference is built in wifi and a nicer bezel. Same software and features. And I have a larger panel

Best TV I have ever bought! If you get a chance to buy one, buy it! Do not hesitate!

The only downside I will say is the sound is not the best because the unit is so thin they could not fit top of the line sound in it. Now saying that it is in no way terrible and I don't mind it. But for the major audiophiles out there you might want to get a soundbar or sound system for it too!

Cracker of a deal don't need a new TV just yet but at that price we'll be getting the upgrade to 3D :D Thanks OP

Oh took the last one in Arklow BTW.

That's great OP, thanks a mill. Was looking at buying the newer version through amazon.de (http://amzn.to/14l7r9a) but at that price it looks like a great bargain.

This has an Ethernet port to allow hard wired internet access.

I picked one of these up earlier in the year on offer at Richer Sounds. Big fan of it I must say. Linked to home network via LAN connection and plays anything I throw at it. Great TV interface and built-in Free HD tuner is a great help. I kinda prefer the 3D where you don't need batteries in glasses, but not the end of the world I guess. As someone said already, the sound might not be amazing, but sure if you have a surround system or something then that doesn't matter. Great looking TV anyway and if in any doubt just read up on the reviews on Amazon of it - that helped convince me when choosing. Have reserved one to offer to family members today but if none of them want it I'll post up a code later (Dun Laoghaire).

Edit - sorry mixed up my TVs. I bought a Samsung 6300 series too at the time and it's that one that has the Freeview HD and active 3D. The LG is passive but still a great TV!

If the dongle was plugged into it for wifi would the tv still be able to be mounted on the wall flat?

If I remember right, the USB ports are sideways on the back so I assume yeah you could still hang flat enough against wall.

I recently bought the LM640 in 47" with wifi built in, paid around €660 for it. LG's passive 3D is seriously good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,454 ✭✭✭positron

Those who missed the deal, just keep eyes peeled for better deals in next few months to year - I would think there would be serious bargains coming up as manufacturers try and make 4K tvs mainstream.

The TV should pop back up tomorrow after the shops close and people haven't collected the TV's they reserved.

I wonder do they pop up again at 18:00 or would it be after midnight ?

BTW, I reserved a 37" Full HD Panny at 499. The 42" is just too big for my needs. Does 499 sound excellent or just OK ?

This thread is just like a great big tease. My TV is on the way out, picture doesn't always want to show itself, already had it fixed under warranty so next time its getting the boot. Pain in the bum :(

Does the tv have 3d glasses with it? Do I need something to make it work with wifi?

Reserved one for Cork last night.

Is it against forum rules to sell the reservation code?

on amazon it mentions that it comes with 4 sets of glasses, the glasses are the cheap "passive" ones anyway so doesn't really bother me if it doesn't come with them.

I imagine its against the norms of common decency.

    Classy......

It comes with 4 sets, but the ones you pick up in the cinema work perfectly with this telly.

No not really. I have something people want, if they really want it then they'll pay for it. Common business sense really.

Being wide to the demand of certain people. You on the other hand, are probably just jealous you didnt avail of this deal. Ah well

While not specifically against the rules, it is frowned upon around here.

In a community which is only alive due to members posting deals to benefit other members, trying to sell a reservation code to make a profit is not welcome!

I thought selling anything on the BA thread was against the rules? Aren't people normally pointed towards Adverts?
