calorie counting diary.

    Hi im just wondering which app anyone can recommend for a calorie counting diary... Fitday any use?? Ive just joined the fitness pal one... But it has very few irish products.... R is it just me doing it all arse ways!!

    Do you have a smartphone? You can scan the barcodes to get the nutritional value off them quickly. I've tried foods from a lot from Dunnes/Superquinns to Lidl/Aldi and it hasn't failed me yet.

    I find myfitnesspal brilliant. I've never had any problem finding Irish brands like Pat the Baker for example or the likes of Superquinn and Dunnes own brand

    Yeah myfitnesspal appears to have the best range of Western European products and measures. I've used fitday and sparkpeople before and they generally only have US brands and non-metric measures.

    Haha...i'll hav to stop shopping in aldl so & shop in dunnes r superquinn & get my self a smart fone!!... Thanx all.

    I use My Plate at livestrong.com A fellow from the UK suggested it to me.
    It might have Irish products on there. I know it has lots of Canadian ones.

    A lot of products don't have crazy differences in calories due to where they're made, while I have seen some exceptions, if you search for "wholemeal bread" the options that comes up can be almost identical to the brand you have :) good luck!
