    Hi,

So I have started my new healthy life, and i would appreciate anyone who has done similar to help me out.

i weigh 87kgs right now, 5 feet 7 inches and 30 years old.

Started off well this year, but then my dad died, so has taken me sometime to get through those rough months and get my head clear to start again. I think being fit and healthy will help my head out too!

I'm posting this here so i stick to it! if its public, i have to go for it!!!

So i have joined the gym and have been attending 7am spinning classes, 3 times a week (for the past week), i do want to add to this, so should I add weights, cardio classes or what?

Diet has been clean for the past week - all fresh fruits, veg, eggs, lean meat, nuts etc.. just keeping it simple.

I haven't a clue about protein shakes, should i do these things?
i'd be afraid of putting on weight if I took them, maybe later down the road?

I have a goal also so that will help - wedding next year, and plan to go dress shopping in september, so 2 months of goodness will really help the confidence. so please anything you can advise me to do I would be so grateful of.

If anyone is in the same boat and needs someone to buddy up and stay motivated im all for that too :)

    Thanks

Well done on even making your mind up to go healthy :)

I started at 12 stone 3 on January 2nd of this year and am now maintaining 10 stone 6 since early may have a goal to lose more but giving myself a breather to get back at it again,

I gave up the dreaded grains , don't drink much alcohol anymore and just started eating more fruits and veg along with a bit of exercise , went to the gym twice a week but started cycling in the last month instead, I prefer to be outside when I can , the main thing I did which might not suit everyone was I tried to take myself out of situations where I'd eat out, I can't help myself with fast food around , or if the family were getting take away I'd get a piece of chicken but I'd find myself eyeing up their half eaten taco fries so off for a short walk until it was all gone ,

Tea and coffee are a great filler too ,

At the start I consumed myself by weight loss , I listened to jillian michaels podcasts and watched biggest loser season 13 on youtube you should see the girl Danny's transformation UNBELIEVABLE !! Jillian has an audiobook called slim for life , if u sign up for audible.co.uk , you get one book free with a monthly subscription, but don't forget to cancel membership!! I kinda treated her like my personal trainer as I couldn't afford one,

If I think of anything else ill let you know , best of luck :)
