It does threaten social peace, however not at the numbers we have immigrating. German and Sweden have massive immigration and it does cause problems.

Just because it's in The Daily Mail should not inhibit discussion. And the mealy-mouthed pseudo intellectual types should get out the binoculars, focus on the midgets a long way beneath their ivory towers, get a grip and learn a thing or two about the real world.

Britain better make sure it votes UKIP next election

    *snicker

"After its rousing success in May, Nigel Farage's party dropped from an 18 per cent spike to 12 per cent in the new poll, although it is still three points above its previous highs.

Labour's popularity has increased by two points to 36 per cent, the poll by ICM Research shows, putting it seven per cent higher than the Conservatives who have gained one point."

    The Daily Mail's Alarmist Headlines:

"437,000 Romanians and Bulgarians flooded into Germany in three years"
"Overall crime in Germany falling but crimes relating to Bulgarian and Romanians on the rise"

You don't need to be a scientist to figure out that if there's way more Romanians and Bulgarians in the country, then inevitably the amount of crimes committed by them would increase, as it would with any demographic increase.

Typical xenophobic rubbish from the Daily Mail. Short on facts, high on hysteria.

A London council has called on Romanian police to come and deal with members of the Roma community who have set up camp in the capital.

It's time that some people here removed their pointy heads out of the sand and smelled the coffee! ;)

Oh look a Daily Mail article!

Let's all have a serious and well informed discussion about these facts :pac:

Number of Romanians and Bulgarians have risen significantly in the past 3 years..number of crimes committed by Romanians and Bulgarians have also risen!

    Shocker

You know what I mean Nodin. Ireland has nothing near the teeming slums of most European cities where the lingua franca is anything but. You'll see more gated estates springing up as people feel more threatened. After all, you do what is best for your family. And one side of the social divide should not be allowed the undermine the values of an established other side.

OP, quoting the Telegraph and Daily Mail is hardly legitimatising your agenda. Most people automatically discount anything they read in them as propaganda.

UK Paper building a resentment towards immigration? Especially those form the Romanian and Bulgarian populations. If anyone's memory is any goo, you'll remember the UK Home Office and their mission of propaganda just a few months back regarding Bulgarian and Romanian immigrants.

One of my closest friends here in Spain is Romanian (from a poor background but who's English is as good as mine and who speaks fluent Spanish and French and is just about to start an MBA in Business). The prejudice she comes up against almost every time she tells someone where she's from is shocking (I've seen it repeatedly) and it is not helped by articles like this where thick, small-minded people get their opinions from (and not from any real-life experience) and who basically want justification for their bigotry. I know 4 Romanian women here in total and they are the smartest, nicest and most respectful, hard-working women I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Daily Mail inciting racism/prejudice/xenophobia again. What's new. Fcuk them.

And for the stupid among you (not referring to anyone in particular):

    No. Don't be thick.

Edit: Probably a little harsh. If you were implying this was the case, you're wrong. If you were asking a genuine question, the answer is no.

Most people only notice Roma gypsies. They are colourful even if antagonistic. The quiet ones that melt into the background and get on with improving their lives rarely get noticed. So, it is a kind of natural to assume that all Romanians are Romas, from that perspective.
Not everyone has your intellectual insight. And, hopefully, most of those that have are not blinded by it.

Blinded by actually having some idea of what the truth is? God forbid!

I don't claim to be an intellectual at all but I do happen to know the difference between the truth and hyperbole.

Romas are settlers in Romania as they are in other European countries and there as a big a problem there as anywhere else in Europe.

People are confused because they have similar names and this article has compounded that confusion making life harder for actual Romanian immigrants.

This article blatantly refers to Roma gypsies as "Romanians" which is completely false.

Oh I'm no fan of Enoch, but it's worth examining how Britain's social history evolved in the wake of this speech.

There are some crazy people in Germany that would find quite a bit to agree on in that speech.

This article blatantly refers to Roma gypsies as "Romanians" which is completely false.

Would you not agree that most of these gypsies originated in Romania?

About 10 years ago I employed two Romanian fellows for about two years. Both from Timisoara, both good workers, eager to learn a skill and English. We had many discussions re Romas. They felt embarrassed each time we came across Roma beggars and both disdained their behavior. Equally hated in Romania and all other European countries, I wonder what is the catalyst that fires you into defending them. Is it because you want to have a go at The Daily Mail or you want to show your superior social intelligence. Either way, the link below will show that that paper has a wide readership and AFAIK the largest of the internet papers.

The Daily Mail is a British daily middle-market[2] tabloid newspaper owned by the Daily Mail and General Trust.[3]
First published in 1896 by Lord Northcliffe, it is the United Kingdom's second biggest-selling daily newspaper after The Sun.[4] Its sister paper The Mail on Sunday was launched in 1982. Scottish and Irish editions of the daily paper were launched in 1947 and 2006 respectively. The Daily Mail was Britain's first daily newspaper aimed at the newly literate "lower-middle class market resulting from mass education, combining a low retail price with plenty of competitions, prizes and promotional gimmicks",[5] and the first British paper to sell a million copies a day.[6]
It was, from the outset, a newspaper for women, being the first to provide features especially for them,[7] and is the only British newspaper whose readership is more than 50 percent female, at 53 percent.I]clarification needed[/I[8][9][10]
It had an average daily circulation of 1,991,275 copies in April 2012.[11] Between June and December 2011 it had an average daily readership of approximately 4.371 million, of whom approximately 2.803 million were in the ABC1 demographic and 1.596 million in the C2DE demographic.[11] It has over 100 million unique visitors per month to its website.[12]

Just ask them and you will realise that your friends will be even more pissed off with those people ruining the reputation of Romanians than with the biased media. Or would you want to be compared to a hypothetical Irish mobile minority group that left an impression on the locals?

Be very careful of them immigrants!

WALLET SCAM WARNING! In ALDI or Lidl whilst packing shopping into the car, you may be approached by 2 fit 18 year old Eastern European girls in tight tops.

They wash your screen with their tits up against the window and ask for a lift to the next Aldi as payment.

On the way they will strip down and perform oral sex on each other. One will then climb into the front and suck you off, while the other steals your wallet!

I had mine stolen last Thursday, Friday, Saturday, twice on Sunday, and once again today. So be very careful!
