I will be minding 2 children ...a baby and a two and a half year old in the afternoons from 1.30 til 6.30. Could anyone give me an idea what to charge the parents please.

    Hi there

I think it depends a bit on what part of the country you live, as rates tend to vary.
I live in South Dublin/North Wicklow area and the rates seem to be c. €5 per hour for one child and €8 for two.
For the five hours, that would be €40 per day (€25 for the 1st child and €15 for the 2nd).
Obviously at the end of the day it's about negotiating a rate between yourself and the mum that you're both happy with, but you could use the figures above as a guideline.

    Hope that helps!

Hi , thanks for that....thats just what I was thinking but they think its way too much. They have decided to look elsewhere for childcare.
