    HI,

Have a Seahog Seejeep with a 30hp engine and one of the attached trailers, http://www.sbstrailers.com/product_display.asp?m=12&c=7&ProductDisplay=31
the whole trailer is fully adjustible which is handy, but i'm looking to see if anyone would have idea's on how to set it up properly. The swing bar on my old roller coaster was at the very end of the trailer, and wondering if i should move this one back to the end also ? currently alot of weight towards the tow bar end so could move the axle slightly forward until i get the right balance.
found some tips on the attached link, opinions anyone ? http://www.shorelandr.com/pages/o_e_tc_measure.aspx

    cheers

id move the axel forward a foot or till you can nearly balance it level without holding it for a few seconds should be bang on without the boat on it.

The best place to get this info is on caravan sites - google 'caravan nose weight' and you will find all the info you need. It is quite important from a safety perspective to get the balance correct and is worth reading some very nerdy stuff to get it right!

Before you move the axel see if you can move the front bar thats holds the winch if so move the boat back so there is still weight on the tow hitch but you can lift it up with one hand it doesn't matter if the boat overhangs the trailer at the back a bit as you can adjust the tail light board bracket. The very last rollers should sit close to or few inches from the transom as this part of the boat offers the best support and can take a good bit of a pounding compared to if the rollers were in a foot or so.

    thanks for replies,

first pic shows where transom overhangs the last of the rollers by about 7"

The roller swing bar was originally beside the "750" markings on the trailer, so i moved back a little to help with the trailer loading. The swing bar on my old roller coaster was right at the end, so thinking i might move this one back also, before i look at moving the axle forward. Looking at moving it between the nut for the lighting bars and the winch strap holder, to the left of where it currently is.

As the whole trailer is fully adjustable i can move the winch post back as well. SBS replied to me saying to aim for about 30/40kgs at the hitch
