A new one? Wow, very exciting. There's a large fleet of IDRA's at my club and I'm always fascinated by them, I think they're fantastic boats. I've always liked the thought of owning one some day, thanks for the link Fergal.

A friend of mine is the son of the designer of the IDRA and he was asked to sign his name to the boat the other day, he is also the owner of HMS Portisham in Balbriggan that the Co,Co are trying to get rid of. :(

If the world didn't have dreamers the world would have nothing. :)

I knew and crewed for BK on Brainstorm in one race, an ISORA; just the two of us, primitive below, and not up to your standard of finish! Usually I raced against him in Cruisers II but he did not race very frequently. He also designed the 'Kerry' class, not dissimilar to the Folkboat, but with much nicer lines. There used to be a couple in the Coal Harbour. One was called 'Margaret' owned by Jerry Callinan.

€2,750.....no comment, but she looks beautiful. Somewhere in my memory I recall hearing that the original price was about £50 delivered Dublin when they were launched.

He is probably trying to get back the time and money he put into restoring her, sad to say that never happens most people nowadays only see or can afford the IKEA type machine built finished product for a few quid than something better built by human hands but a bit more expensive. It's a bit like the day's I remember as a kid when a tinker would come to our house and make a pot,pan or coal bucket, amazing to watch and a very exciting day for me much better than going to the supermarket, there is more to a pot than meets the eye :D A bit of a ramble I know but sometimes I just wish the power would go out and we could go back to the old days :) except for computers I couldn't live without them :D
