You have a great eater !!!!! My little man hates eggs ! I tried mashing , hard boiled , cut up and scrambled ! He just gags and spits out !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,948 ✭✭✭Sligo1

OMG all your LOs are such great eaters! I hate giving Lilly the baby rice but it is all she will take! Even of I put some stewed apple or banana into it she won't eat it. She won't take apple or pear or spud or porridge or anything! My boy was so so different and would eat anything and everything in site.

LH goodluck with interview and I hope it goes well for you. And OMG that's fantastic ye will be trying again in the new year! It's definitely tough having 2 so young but they will hopefully be such great friends all going well. I think we are going to try again around August. Thomas will be going to Montessori in September so I wouldn't have 2 at home whilst preggers. Lol.

Cyning ye really have been through the mill. I hope things start to look up soon for ye.

    For finger food: basically everything!

Fruit cut into long pieces: make sure you third the banana: gently squeeze the top and it will split down.

Crackers/rice cakes with mashed avacado/hummus/cheese spread what ever really.

    Savoury muffins

    Toast with topping: cheese etc

Roast veg are great for small hands, broccoli boiled.

    Frozen yogurt

She really has been through the mill. Hopefully she starts to have it a bit easier now :)

20 months between my two. Plan for now is no more kids for 2/3 years and then another 2! My body (and mind!) need a break from being pregnant!!

You must have a busy house !!! I am looking forward to hopefully having two close together but also a bit nervous

It is busy but honestly they are so mad about Eachother... Nothing makes either of them happier than cuddling up together: but the downside to that can be if one cries they both can!

It's just about being organised and having toddler worthy baby stuff: the swing was a disaster I couldn't use it. Used the bouncer and sling a lot more!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,948 ✭✭✭Sligo1

Cyning you're€&/ so right. It really is all about organisation! Tbh the part I found hardest was actually bring pregnant with a baby. Tom was only 6 months when I got pregnant. The part I found hardest was third trimester when Tom couldn't walk abd I had to carry him and entertain him etc when I was the size of house, short of breath and not sleeping. We were both sick with various viruses in the last couple months aswell.

But as soon as Lilly was born things got a lot better. It's so busy and tiring but if you're organised its very doable. I just want to get the 3 pregnancies out of the way while I'm in the zone if you get what I mean. Then perhaps take a break for 3 or 4 years and then if we feel like number 4 hopefully try when I'm 37 or 38 ish. :)

I'm still 28 so have plenty of time to take a few years break! Although after a mental day I'm not sure why I'd ever want another one ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,449 ✭✭✭✭pwurple

I'd definitely go for it if ye are in the zone. The more people I meet with sick children, or who ended up incontinent after a birth, the less I want to risk any of the awful sad things that can go wrong with the whole lot of it, ever again. Only way I'd go for it would be with a surrogate! Don't think we could afford more babies either. 2 to three is a bigger jump in expense than 1 to 2. Different car(s) needed etc.

I'm 32 next monday! Lol... so want to get it done! Lol

I always wanted 3 but dont think i could do it again. ha would be a lil impossible as still terrified to do the deed.
Ive a bigger gap 23 months. i found pregnancy hard due to spd but toddler was sick with ear infections for months until she had her grommets so wasnt very energetic. i found it very hard after the birth when i had the infection to deal with along with spd and a newborn and 2 year old.
I still get the odd flare up of spd 6 months later.
Routine really is key though. once i keep to that we are sorted.
For a few weeks i kept getting bad pain in my foot so was walking funny and started to feel the strain in pelvic region. decided to get a balance assesment done in elverys sports, forked out €130 for runners with molder inserts as i have collapsed arches.
Anyway a week later my toes were swelling (arch pain eased though) so i popped to doctor. It actually looks like i may have gout but no idea how. Or could be some arthritis inflammation .
Im 28, definitely not over weight (not sure what weight i am at the mo but a size 10) i walk alot (dont exercise as much as id like though) and eat pretty healthily. so gp is a bit stumped. Will be getting blood results this week and waiting on appointment for xray also.

Good luck with the blood results Suucee. Hope it's nothing too serious x

Im 32 in November so want to get all the kids done and dusted before 36 ( hopefully ! )
Suucee hope you get on ok with your bloods !

I still get pain like my SPD as well - have pains in my feet when I stand up - though I think its from wearing flats all day !

I'm hoping to get 3 in before I'm 34. And we may leave it at that but it gives me a few years just incase I get broody again :).

O you know those fisher price toys boards.ie were giving people to try out! Well my name was picked!! Yay me! Feeling lucky :). It's coming tomorrow. Wonder which one it will be.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,251 ✭✭✭cyning

Mine too Sligo I'm so excited to see what we get :)

S is reacting to the vaccinations again: diarrhoea, temperature, off her food and quite cross. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse. She's extremely snotty and coughing too. Well reacting not the right word: she's sick right after vaccination again! We know her immune system is ok so I cannot understand it :(

I'm desperately broody too but honestly cannot cope with the pregnant part!

Whats this about fisher price. I really should read more posts..

Cyning your poor lil woman. Least no more injections for 6 months now (ours are thursday morning) .

This is the thread Suucee we will have to write a review but no idea what we are getting yet!

I know I'm so bloody grateful for that... No bother with vaccines in the first little lady: this one is a disaster!

Cyning I hope you're little one is feeling better tomorrow. I'd say she is getting lots of cuddles from you.

I'm definitely broody aswell! I got pregnant with Lilly when thomas was Lilly's age now. Lol. Definitely NOT doing that again! I want to wait till Lilly is on the verge of walking. Having said that, she is a lot easier than tom was as a baby and A LOT lighter... So I might be ok being preggers.... But I'm not gonna risk it! Hahaha.

I'm so excited to see which toy we get Cyning. Would love the red car but doubt we would be lucky enough to get it! The chair looks cool aswell but I haven't really read much about them.

O Suucee such a pity you didn't get your name down! I think your man chose 10 people. It was a lottery sort of thing with random names picked but I have a feeling those with 2 or more babies and toddlers may have got preference as the toys are the sort to adapt to different ages. So they'd get a. Ore comprehensive review from those who could test them at home with each child. So you prob would've had a good chance of getting one!

LO is getting on great, no crawling yet but he is sitting on his own, standing while holding on to something and walking with support. My back is in bits. He is in great health not once a cold or a fewer no probs at all from the vacinations. I feel everz morning like a train hit me though. the spd is nearlz gone but my feet my hands and wrists and mz back are killing me.
Heared its normal as all ther homonal chances are causing it. Will be gone in a few month.
Not going back to work, see how that goes. But the childcare would be nearlz the same as my wages. But I enjoy it being home with him.

She's fine it was the back of her head: a fall from about 4 foot onto a wooden floor... She had a very high temp too, and was very sleepy and groggy so had to get her checked out. Left the house with no shoes on her, no dress on the baby just tights and a top, I'm fairly wrecked now!!

How's everyone doing now? Lilly had her developmental check today. She's 17lb 9oz and in 50th percentile. Has 2 teeth aswell :). She's eating her solids a little bit better now aswell. About one third of a weetbix in the morning and a carrot spud mix with gravy in the evening. She's very fussy so I want to try and give her a bit more variety.

How many milk feeds are ye giving at the mo? Lilly is still on 4 total (breast and bottle). The PHN said to cut out a feed and she may take her solids better... I know I should but I'm very reluctant at the mo as she has been very unsettled in the night (due to her teeth I think??).

I started a diploma last night. Nice to get out of the house for a few hours :). And turned 32 yesterday!! Lol... Where is the time going!!!!???

Today I really feel like curling up on the couch and putting the cartoons on all day until OH gets home and I'm finding it very tough to resist the urge! I put the 2 babes down at 1 and they were both awake at 1.30... It's going to be a long day!

Happy birthday!! God you're so ancient now, nearly catching up on me! :)

Hmm, where's my developmental check I wonder... haven't heard anything from the PHN.

50th percentile is nice! My first was always around 25th-ish, and this lady was up at 90th last check. Funny that even though I started the bfing and then went to formula at around the 6 wk mark for both of them, the PHN blamed the 6 wks of bfing for the 25th percentile for my first, and the formula from 6 weeks for the 90th percentile for second baby. Cue giant eye-rolling from me. They're just different babies.

4 milk feeds a day here still, although she doesn't take much, down to about 5oz each time. That being said, 6oz per feed was about as high as we ever got with the reflux thing. The tin of formula says 7oz x 3 times a day for her age, but neither baby has ever fit with those guidelines.

I don't envy you the diploma, I'm on a piss easy project at work (grad level, insulting stuff tbh), so I've horsed myself into very specialised training, and doing odds and ends out of normal hours to fill it out. Always good to get more knowledge, whether I ever use it or not, but my brain feels like it's going to explode some days. I've another week on this one, and think I might take it easier then for a week or two. I've this massive sense that I need to prove myself again. I've been cycling to work as well where I can. I pile the 3yr old and the 7mt old onto the bike with me, to get dropped in creche on the way, proper amsterdam styley! They love whizzing along. But weather looks like a change, so might be the end of that for a while.
