Hi, has anyone had experience with fallen arches, can they be sorted with any stretching/strengthening exercises? Would some barefoot running on grass help? Would a physio be of any help, or should i see a podiatrist?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I have fallen arches and was told by physio to walk barefoot around the house (not barefoot running), and do strengthening exercises such as squeezing a towel with your toes.
Can take 6 months to get feet right though.

Also get rid of any arch support you may have.

    As in the post above.
    • Slowly phase out the arch supports
    • Start walking around barefoot (in the house)
    • If you Deadlift, start doing in your socks or a pair of Vibrams
    • Pick objects up with your toes/ring towel
    • Massage your foot with something hard by standing on it.Horrible but your feet will thankyou for it.
    • Learn a barefoot style of running & begin to incorporate it slowly into your regime.
    • Foam roll/get treatment & stretch often on you calve's, soleus, peronials, plantar fascia, intrinsic foot muscles etc.
    • I'm also getting great results on clients with PCI's (I'm just waiting to be lynched but they get results)
