Afternoon all.. just looking for some info

I started taking whey protein shakes last night. I took one after bootcamp and went straight to bed and didnt notice anything.
But this morning I took one when I arrived to work... 30 mins later my vision went all blurred and I was seeing spots! I could barely see my screen...
It lasted about an hour and has left me with the most horrific headache!

Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this?
It scared the bejaysus out of me and I'm hoping it was just the shake!

    Thanks

    Never heard of that happening.

    What brand was it?

I would strongly recommend seeing your GP if something like this happens again.

I can understand why you may think it could be caused by your protein shake since you only started taking it the night before it happened, however I don't even consider whey protein as a supplement.

It is just food in powder form and I am almost 100% sure that it wasn't your protein shake that caused it.

EDIT: Actually now when I think of what you said, the symptoms you described fit for migraine. Symptoms of the aura before the headache may include blurred vision and spots. I think you should contact your GP.

    The brand is Matrix Elite

I was gonna take another shake later and see if the same thing happens again!
I couldnt find anything online about other people having the same problem

Maybe you're right and its just a coincidence that this happened just after the shake...
I wouldnt say the pain was as bad as a migraine.
It was more like someone was squeezing the two sides of my skull!
Although I've never actually had a migraine so maybe thats what they feel like!

OP, As we cant give medical advice here, youll need to see a gp if this happens again.
