Thanks op, when you go through to the ticket order page you can only select quantity one however. To get 2 you need to get tickets from two different devices

The college server that I am using prevent me from visiting this site. It said this site is a phishing site!!!! So BE CAREFULL!!!!!!!!

Yeah I was just thinking the same, if we are all using the one "Unique Security Code" are we all printing the same ticket with a different name on it? :pac:

the serial number under my bar code ends in 9926 - that the same for everyone?

Mine ended in 9642 so the serial numbers appear to be different, we should be okay!

Mine's different from both of the above, and so is a friend of mine's. Also the two QR code are different.

It says on the site that the code can only be used once, and if used again makes the previous bar code invalid... Think only the person who prints it off last will get in folks!

    Should be a laugh.

...watching everybody turn up on the night, looking for free entry and a cocktail.

We were treated like animals, Joe.

..and of course the 'We want our free comedy and gargle' Facebook group.

Well hopefully the fact that it's closed means that they'll honour the tickets we've all printed off.

    I'm gonna try mine anyway!

Yeah no harm, I'm gonna try the 2nd set I got with the made up code.

I was one of the people who signed up for this but I am also a fairly regular attender of the laughter lounge along with a good few of my friends...I'll be showng my friends how this was handled and wont personally darken the Laughter lounge door ever again

Got the email too, was going to post it.

Thought it was absolutely hilarious, they just reckon we're a pack of chancers.

In fairness, if a swarm of angry boardsies turned up on saturday demanding free entry and free booze it could have been a nightmare for them to sort. I'd be pretty pi**ed if I was them too.

I've recieved and used this offer before, and it's pretty damn good, but I presume they have to strictly limit the numbers for obvious reasons.

Yeah, to be fair to them, they are really good at giving away free tickets to people who go lots and people on here were just trying to scam/steal money/tickets/cocktails off them. I don't find the email too unfair in the slightest.

What are you smoking and can I have some? They handled it correctly imo.

You were supposed to get a free ticket but someone messed it up so nobody gets a free ticket. But you think that's their fault or am I missing something?

Nobodies disagreeing about not giving any one free tickets. That's fair enough. The problem is the nasty way the email was worded, there was no reason not to send a nice polite email.

Yeah, what a bunch of w*nkers laughter lounge are. People trying to scam money off them, then they catch them and have the cheek to be annoyed at the scammers.

Well lets see when i woke this morning i wasn't expecting a vicious email to be waiting in my inbox as a result of availing of the type of offer boardsies avail of every day. Also I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned how the OP with the original code has also been blacklisted just for being generous to others like you and i. So yeah I can see the Laughter Lounge's point (to a point) but it's the tone of the email that was bang out of order

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 505 ✭✭✭Koptain Liverpool

Of course we have no cause for complaint but the Laughter Lounge really should take measures to ensure that the codes it issues can only be used once. And also that fake codes don't go through the system.
On a side note does anyone actually pay the full price admission (€26!) to this place. It's not like the line up is international comedians or anything. I think you can see the same guys in the International Bar for €10 most weeks.

So you didn't know that you were scamming Laughter Lounge? (I realise you might think you were just chancing your arm but you were scamming, the thread really should have been deleted, I seen it yesterday and decided not to report it or say anything)

This wasn't the type of offer boardsies avail of every day. It is pretty clear in the OP that this was sent directly to them and for them only. Most other offers like this are for cinema tickets which there is a code that can be used by anyone until all the spaces are taken up.

The email wasn't vicious, it was a fact based statement clearly sent by a company that realised people were scamming them and they weren't happy. And rightly so.

Yes i do believe we were all chancing our arm and not scamming as you allege. So you are saying you have never used a promotion/discount code that someone has posted from an email they received but you didn't?

Be careful, a fall from a horse that high could be painful

I replied with a message in a similar tone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,060 ✭✭✭Kenny Logins

I thought the email was spot-on. If I had received it, I'd accept the response as fitting to my attempt to scam them.

Sounds like you want them to apologise for catching you. :D

Yeah I probably have. I am not talking really about using the code. I am just saying I don't see how you are put off by the email you received and why you would tell other people about it, you are clearly in the wrong and as Kenny said "Sounds like you want them to apologise for catching you." Why should they joke or be nice to people that are trying to take money out of their pockets?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,028 ✭✭✭✭--LOS--

lol it's their own bloody fault that they don't use one-time-use codes, this is no more a scam than googling for promotional discount codes for online shopping. Ofc I don't think anyone here should be put out that they copped this was going on and stopped them going but at the same time that email was ridiculous.

Email was really poorly done. Not the best system they have either when all those people could do that. Time to boycott!

Not to mention I saw somebody there like a year and a half later, same exact show. Painful.
They give away tickets because it would be empty seats and empty seats don't buy drinks.
Also have to show up ridiculously early to get the free cocktail, so that you will buy more drinks etc.
