Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well this quite long to explain about the bus.

This bus was designed by an artist named Thomas Heatherwick and manufactured by Wrightbus in Ballymena. The bus is 11 meters long and features 2 staircases and an open platform. The open platform can be used as a door whenever the conductor is not available. The bus also have air conditioning and Oyster card readers around the bus so commuters can pay their fare when they board at the rear and middle doors instead of the front of the bus. The bus is inspired by the original Routemasters because of the open platform.
    More infomation here.

The first prototype have been built in 2011 and entered into service on route 38 in London on the February 28th 2012. The total of the New Routemaster prototypes are 8.

In September 2012, Transport for London board approves ordering 600 of the New Bus for London vehicles. The production vehicles are due to be in London by 2016.

The cost of the project is approximately 212.7 million pounds for 600 vehicles and 11 million pounds for design and development. The budget comes from capital expenditure.

The first route to be converted to New Bus for London vehicles which is route 24 on the June 22nd 2013.

The next conversion is planned for 21 September for route 11.

These buses will not have conductors. The Mail on Sunday explains the new job title:
A bus company has been accused of losing its way with words after advertising for a 'customer-facing passenger assistant.'

The Go-Ahead London advert for a bus conductor described the role as 'brand new' and said applicants need to be a 'good face-to-face communicator' who has a 'natural flair for going "the extra mile"' and was fit enough to cope with standing for lengthy periods of time. ...

The Plain English Campaign - which promotes concise writing - dubbed the advertisements 'gobbledegook'. ...

But they will be known as conductor because it's the tradition of the open platform bus with 2nd crew member.

But not all routes will have conductors because the rear platform also operates as a door.

I would personally think if Dublin Bus would do a trial on them? I know they got Leap card which is equivalent to our Oyster card as you touch in as you board.
