We have loads of other threads about seating and the stadium hole, etc.... but not a thread about the tournament itself, so here it is!

    McIlroy :: +2 after 3 holes!

not a good start for the worlds number 2

Good man Ricky, was just about to start a thread.

Jaysus +2 through 3 is not a great start. Is this only on Sky?

    Something wrong with European Tour leaderboard;
Rory and Shane started at 7.50 and they only have their scores after 3 holes up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 95 ✭✭leroythelegend

European tour letting the side down again. They're consistantly crap at updating the scores on their site. PGA tour are miles ahead of them.

I don't think it gets updated every minute, last update was at 9.10

Im guessing you weren't following the PGA scoring the last couple of weeks so ;)

Agreed. European Tour doesn't even have an Android app..

    Casey early leader on -3

Looks like we won't know the scores until TV starts... the live blog part is updating but not the scores....

If you look at a bookies site, Lowry went out to 25/1 after 3, he now into 12/1, so obviously shot something good !

(Not betting talk just a way of indicating the scores to all here)

I follow it every week, they do make the odd mistake now and then but it is way better than european tour. At least they update it. This is head wrecking stuff this morning.

    Connectivity issues!!

Unfortunately we're having connectivity issues on venue affecting live scoring, we are working to fix this issue #IrishOpen

They make plenty mistakes with the shot tracker alright but the last couple of weeks we've have "live scoring not availble at this time" :(

Hopefully the European tour will be updated every 2 or 3 minutes now like it usually is.

Nice 3 birdies on the spin for Lowry :)

Another update and another Lowry birdie...-3 after 9.

Lowry -3, McGinley -2...seems like good scoring so far...
anyone know what the weather is like down there?
Raining in Dublin at the moment, but no wind...

Lads, what's the best app on the play store for following the scoring?
Haven't found a decent one yet.

This is the best, not sure if it's on play store. I think i just went to the page and saved a shortcut on my home screen. Leaderboard always comes up

I use the golf channel one. It has PGA and euro without having to load up a second app.

It was a bit of silly tee shot from Rory

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,597 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

Keep the live commentary coming in - cant access sky go or anything like it from college so I am missing everything :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,426 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Good shot at par 3 (3) from Bjorn and Rory, good birdie chances.

Moynihan big putt for par at 17, very few pros, club pros or amateurs behind Rory, finger out required.

Rory misses another birdie putt, still on +2, Lowry on -3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,426 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

And of course it would notbe an irish open without rain , only light not the stuff we have seen before.
A wind , but not too bad. A low score 65 66 on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,426 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Again, two lads good off tee , rory, too strong a draw. Bunker

Does Rory need to be longer than Shane . Young ego.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 904 ✭✭✭realgolfgeek

Shane is one damn fine striker of the ball I have to say...
think he needs one big finish or win and he'll have loads of confidence ... If that happens, I can see him winning a major at some point..

Hope McGinley does well .. always been my favourite Irish golfer.

Was the same at the matchplay - Rory was consistantly 50 yards outside Shane every single time and we saw how that worked out for him

Flashbacks of Portmarnock on a silly inland links.
