    Hey everybody,
Did the paint correction using rotary today and like what it can do but noticed a few spots I will have to go over.

I washed the car 2 days ago it rained then done it again today and also tried and tested 2bucket m.
Was amazed at all the dirt in the clean water bucket so will be doing this from now on.

I cheated a little on the correction today and just done all the big panels but don't think the smaller areas are bad anyway.

Next will be wash again and then apply finishing polish using rotary and then wash again and finish off with collinite.

    Then windows and plastics.

After these many hours of work and the many more to do I will have to give the inside a good going over and seats wil be coming out as im finding the car very smelly and musty after all the damp and muck and water over the winter.

Mirror arm and front fog I have and just need to fit them now.
Going to fit fog when due oil change in a few k.

I will post some pics when I get round to taking them as I only managed 1 today as I was to into getting it done.

^ Why am I seeing hyperlinks in the above post (on the words Dave, service, usual, hoping), linking to "I made €250 a day working from home" spam??

I'm not so I'm guessing it's something that you've downloaded

Just did a google search there - it's malicious adware from Genieo in Israel........

Is that my post? Should be a photo of detailing products on a table!

    I can remove if it's a problem?

No, I don't think it was your post - if it was, others would be getting it too, and that doesn't appear to be the case.

FWIW, it's a malicious browser extension adware called gophoto.it, and you have to go into your browser's tools to remove it.

    Sorted!

I have that bastardin' yoke on my home PC. How exactly did you remove it? Hope it's chrome you have.

Nothing major happening on this front, took off the wheels on Monday and removed the tar, bitch of a job. Got most of it off, the big black bits that are left are where the paint is chipping/bubbling. Nothing great, but it's better than before!

Its a dog's toy - that thing that looks like a nipple is the bit where the air comes out/goes in

    I know it's a dog's toy, I'm wondering why the hell you're playing with it yourself :P

Just fancy a change, i have it just over 24 months which is about my average time for keeping a car, you know yourself you wake up one day and decide you want a change and then there is no turning back lol.

What's good for getting make-up off door cards, levers etc? I'm driven mad with them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,719 ✭✭✭Hal1

A good apc and a bristle brush to agitate it. Let it dwell a few minutes and wipe away. Rinse repeat as necessary. I've been using OC apc but gunk degreaser is great too but it stinks like a ol wh0re.

I use a mild mix of megs APC.
And tell the mot to go easy on the slap!

posted my impresson of OAC perfection before. just an update

Black 520d parked up for last 10 days as we were away on holidays. came back to the expected covering of dust and bird $hite. didn;t have time to do anything since except a quick 2bm wash, rinse, wash and towel dry. OAC had been put on about a month before. came back up to an impressive shine, drew a comment from the neighbour last night about how i keep it looking so black, and this morning some very very impressive beadage.

the OAC was on top of 845 that was put on a month before hand, but still i'm impresed enough to say this will probably be my process from now on, couple of layers of 845 every 4 to 5 months, oac a couple of times in between
