Crushed finger, immobile and "numb"

Finger was crushed in a motorbike accident between the PIP and DIP joint, messy enough but the joints were "undamaged"
Didn't require any pins or anything, they put it in a splint and left it as is.
The splint was taken off, after 9-10 weeks my finger looks like this (it's the middle one):

As you can see, it's slightly malrotated but quite disfigured. The big lump facing the wedding finger at the PIP joint, is a combination of swelling and bits of bone that managed to make its way from the break. There is no bone fragments in the joint, or at least that's what they think.
The PIP and DIP joint feel hard, like there's something under the skin. I was told that was a build-up of scar tissue.

I go to a hand specialist, and do physio on it almost everyday, yet after a few weeks, I can only close my finger at a 90 degree angle. This is mostly the PIP joint, the DIP joint only moves very slightly. Also the tip of my finger is facing slightly downwards, so I can't extend the DIP joint back that much at all yet.

There is "numbness" in the finger. The inverted comma's imply that it's not insensitive, in fact it's quite the opposite. It's has a pin+needles kind of feeling whenever I touch anything, the sensation can be quite overpowering sometimes. I was told that this was something to do with how the finger feels pressure, and was caused by bruised (not severed hopefully) nerves.

So, what do you guys think?
I am worried that my finger's going to be stuck like this, it's very painful to do physio everyday. Obviously i'll stick with it, but like I said it's getting to a worry stage now.
Should I seek surgery to fix that awful lump? Should I be worried that moving my finger any more than 90 degrees when trying to close my palm feels literally impossible?

Sorry but it's against the rules of the forum to ask for or offer medical advice so I have to lock this thread.
