Put all the names in a hat and pick out a name, only fair way and shows you aren't just following success.................like all sheep that follow the Pats;)

With any Luck you'll pull out the Colts.

Just support the Bengals and be done with it.

Depends what style you want to watch. I like hard hitting defenses and clutch moments on offence. That's why I support the Ravens!
In all honesty though watch a few games, one team will stick out to you.

    NFC sucks!

Come to the AFC North, hardest hitting division in all of football

You'll watch a 10-6 score game and you'll love it!

Stay away from the Jets. It's to late for me but no need to take another soul with us. ;)

    Watch a few weeks.. You'll find a team ..

I would personally maybe just read up a bit and maybe pull a name out of a hat. It really is a case of any given sunday your team could win.

I went for New England Patriots as i spent some time over in Boston last year and kinda got hooked. I had the guilts of thinking i had picked the 'manchester united' of the NFL but its not the case.

    : )

That's the beauty of the NFL, the Raiders are probably gonna have a 2-14 season next year but 3-5 years later they might be a playoff team the way the management is handling things.
Same goes for any team, just an injury away from a terrible season.
Soccer should have a draft + cap. Would make it a lot more balanced and fair.

Just so you know I wasn't being a shill earlier, I'm a bears fan, I was just thinking the bengals would be a great team to follow. A talented roster, play a really entertaining brand of football, red rifle under centre, AJ Greene just everywhere making stupidly outrageous catches, and if nothin else for the Simpson TD (even though he's a vike now, a failing vike at that)

Be careful. You don't want to have missed the glory years and spend the next 2 decades following a team in the mire.

The teams with very bright futures right now would be SF, Seattle, Indy and maybe Cincinnatti.

Philadelphia Eagles, You'll see the Offence have a blinder one week that will raise your hopes up that a superbowl is possible and then have a stinker the next to drag you back down to the depths of despair and reality, its like a roller coaster ride every week :D

If your leaning towards the Saints, then stick with it.

Seriously though. Have always had a soft spot for the Seahawks though. Bears fan but just like what they're about

Good advice. I recommend the same OP, get as many teams/games under your belt as you can. And a the Patriots(sorry finger slipped) team will just come to you.:)

Getting hammered? :pac: News Flash just in Patriots Defense and Tom Brady and other key Offensive players also caught up in Hernandez murder case.

You should follow the New Indianapolis Jets I heard they are quite the team with their base running and slams dunks for Touchdowns.

If you want to get on an up and coming team before they make it big, I'd go for the Seahawks.
Young exciting QB in Russel Wilson whose wages will be low allowing money to be spent on other positions.
Think myself that they've a chance to make a Superbowl in next 3-4 years

I think SF, Hawks and Cincy, they're all in with a shout this year. Indy is a playoff team too. You could follow one of the 3 Florida teams who are all pretty much on the up. And who knows, the Jags might be an LA/London team soon enough.

    • Historic franchise
    • New coach and General Manager
    • Agressive running game and fond of the long bomb throws
    • Daycent defence
    • Stack of draft picks next year
    • Best division in football
    Support the Browns.

And nobody will ever call you a bandwagon jumper!

I was joking but to be fair its a real possibility that gronk will miss first 4-5 games, amendola will miss games and as much as I like edelman. Don't see him carrying yer team. Brady won't have the same quality of targets if the worst happens with Hernandez and amendola.

Among the most entertaining teams in the league with all the comebacks and near comebacks last year. Might get the most airtime in the league between the prime time games and having fewer games to contend with in the 4/9pm slot. Should be good next year with the return of their star linebacker Sean Lee to add to the prolific Bryant/Romo connection that got them so far on offense. Not in with a great shot of going further than maybe the divisional round next year, but great history, stylish uniforms and an impressive stadium.

Pretty good choice, among the Pats and Steelers for title of most unnecessarily hated teams in the NFL.
EDIT: Steelers have a reason to be hated, they're the Steelers.

For you maybe, I'm a 49er's fan so don't include me in that sweeping generalisation. Ya I'm envious of the Pats and their dominace as a leading franchise since 2001. But I respect them for it. I also think you are confusing jealously with hate btw.
EDIT: Steelers have a reason to be hated, they're the Steelers.

Hate? Why? I mean hate is such a strong word to use in sport isn't it. I think big Ben is an ass off the pitch, but I admire his ability on it. I love the game, no offense but when I read phrases like "the most hated" here. It reminds of some of the pure crap you get over in the SF.

The Steelers are my team, I jumped on the "bandwagon" in the early 80s because I became friends with an American steelers fan, I've suffered for a lot of years but Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin gave me hope again. Btw they have great Irish links.

Just based on my own history of supporting. If I was picking a team now and had no reason to support any particular team I'd pick a team that hasn't won a Superbowl. When I started supporting the Patriots that was the case and I went through the tough times of losing seasons and then getting to a Superbowl as big underdogs and getting beaten the Brett Favre and the Packers. Then along came Bill Belichick and the wonderful times began.

I just think that its pretty special to be following a team when they win their first big one. I don't know if its as special after that, I remember the two that came together and they were awesome too but the first one was just so special.

Yeah I said unnecessarily hated. Key word being unnecessarily as in I don't think it's Necessary.
The Steeler hate part was a joke as I'm a Ravens fan and they're a rival team.
You're making too many assumptions reading the post. It's a light hearted thread and I'm saying a lot of this stuff tongue in cheek.

Couldn't agree with you more. Did you see his scrambling ability in the Pro Bowl? Most exciting QB rookie in years.

Can't wait to see what he produces this year.

Oh yeah, the soft-tackles in the pro-bowl.....forgot about how they play it that way.

But on another hand, he's top 3 in rushing yards by a QB during 2012.

    You don't like him?

It was a joke, stop taking things so seriously and if the other poster had a problem with it they would have said so........which they didn't.

I was also the 1st to give advise, what advise did you give apart from comment on what i said and then go on about derailing threads ?
