Sore left forearm when lifting

    Hi all,

I've noticed that recently, every time I get past a certain number of reps in the gym, be it DB, BB, machines etc., I'll feel great strain down my left forearm and wrist. My right is totally unaffected.

I'll have more than enough energy to progress, but I feel if I do, I'll strain or damage my arm. Both my forearms are quite taut at resting state, and I can't notice any discernible physical differences between the two, so I don't think it's a matter of one being stronger than the other for whatever reason.

It really cripples my work-out time as I have to cut it prematurely short each time.

Anyone come across this and have any suggestions?

Er, haven't been, not willing to drop the notes to be told it's nothing and/or to take it easy.

yet you'll risk getting possibly incorrect and damaging advice from anonymous strangers who could possibly have 0 medical knowledge. If it hurts go to a doctor or another qualified medical professional.

Forearm action for a male on 1 particular hand isnt a new phenomenon

Forearm curls will help, although I haad the exact same problem as you and when I started these my right hand was far stronger than the left ( Im right handed )
can also exacerbate the problem leading to further damage.

lol, doubt that's it, I don't have some sort of chronic problem there.
And forearm curls are exactly what aggravate the problem, though I don't do them often. Perhaps I'll focus a few minutes a day on just my left arm. Thanks.

If people have been in a similar situation and emerged with the problem solved, then I'm all ears. I doubt they're going to tell me to jump off a building or something.

And it doesn't hurt RIGHT NOW, only during(read:not after) a session at the gym, doubt it warrants a trip to the doctors.

True, Should of read the OP properly, it sounds like theres an underlying problem, for me my muscle was just not as strong so this helped

which is the reason why boards.ie dont allow posters to ask for medical advice.

OP, doctor or a physio should be your first port of call, if its minor enough to not be worth €50 then its up to you to go or not.

If it helps I am suffering from a similar problem in my right forearm, which has been niggling for a while, Ive been hoping it will go away but doesn't look like it is so Ill be visiting a professional with it shortly
