Lyons. More robust. And there is a difference in taste - it's not all in the head!

Lyons. Daft question. Who in their right mind would willingly drink bogger tae...?

Bewleys teabags are great, so are Punjana.
Barrys is muck. Piss. Swill. And so on...

Barrys is a nicer tae. Lyons always tastes like a cup of barrys tea where you used the teabag yesterday.

After the nanny state thread I thought we saw eye on eye on most subjects. I was ready to subscribe to your newsletter. Then this bombshell that you don't like Barrys.

    I'm lost for words.

Lyons! Was raised on it as my late granddad used to work in Lyons & would bring home big bags of teabags to split around the family each week.

Oh it has to be Barrys. Lyons is ok too, but not my favourite.

Barrys by miles, there are some damaged taste buds are around these part with all the lyons votes, its awful stuff. Bewleys would be my second choice after Barrys its ok too.

I did a taste test of barrys and lyons, both the standard green label. Lyons won.

My housemate introduced this to me recently. Nicest tea I ever tasted. In fact, I think I'll make myself a pot right now!

First flush Darjeeling from estates with southern slopes.

Barrys and Lyons comes in teabags and are for the type of people who work in cubicles.

Barry's. At least they don't pretend to have blending facilities in Ireland in their ads.

Putting talk into tea...All talk, ...more like b*llocks-talk

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,943 ✭✭✭smcgiff

Barry's v Lyons is a bit like your religion. You most likely got your preference from your ma.

It also explains why I drink coffee :D

Decent loose-leaf Assam all the way.

If I absolutely have to ddrink teabag tea, then Lyons Gold Blend.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,639 ✭✭✭Miss Lockhart

    Barry's Gold Blend loose leaf.

    All teabags taste of bleach.

Doesnt matter to me at all. Tea is just helps me with my sangwiches, biccies and cake

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

Barrys all the way. For anyone who loves an underdog you have to go with Barrys.

Having risen to prominence in Cork and then Munster many believed that it could never break into Lyons national stranglehold. Barrys also had to fight off Lipton when they tried to enter the market. Lipton is probably the worldwide brand leader and Barrys won. They have now gone on to be stronger than ever. Viva Barrys!

Between the scone argument and this one AH is looking like a pretty dangerous place at the moment :pac:

*Mr.Prodston heads off for a cup of Barrys knowing his work here is done*
