Not this year but planning to compete next year. Are you sailing or going for the craic?

Hopefully both :). Good sailing and good dining afterwards.

Didn't realize their were racing crews here on boards.

Did it last time round, it is a good event.
Just back from the ICRA's in Fenit and off to the Dun Laoghaire Regatta in a couple of week so no Kinsale this year.

    Christ its an expensive sport.

I'll be around for DL alright, staying in the 5 star aft cabin hotel.

It's great, only have to get out of bed at the 10 minute gun :D

Rather not get into it if you are unaware of the details thus far.

Weather was fantastic, this is my 6th one , did my first in 2003...Weather wise this was one of the best. Light Wednesday, medium Thursday, 30 knots friday, and yesterday was just perfect...about 16kts steady, loads of sunshine, warm...and not a drop of rain all week! Happy days...

Anyway, this is us in action, I am at the mast.

Lovely shot to have. Noticed the pole up the track - out of curiosity, do you dip-pole gybe?

Yes, Its a 45-foot boat, the pole is about 12 feet long, or more, end-to-ending would be very difficult with a pole that size.

Also, when hoisting the pole, you gotta get it up the track first, it sticks out about half a metre in front of the boat, and it wont clear the pulpit unless it is well up the track.

Have to say, that K40 was an animal...

Was chatting to the crew after the 'windy' day, we were chuffed having gotten 13.8kts with the No.3 up (after nearly pulling the mast out with the A2 up) until we heard they averaged 19kts downwind and peaked at 21.5...

    Awesome.

    Awesome.

That machine was like a flying saucer downwind!
