Bleeding from the back passage

Just looking for some advice really. My brother is 41 and has recently noted bleeding from the back passage after going to the toilet! He had a similar problem last year as well. He has no pain or weight loss but has noted streaks of blood on toilet paper after using the loo!Went to the doctor last year and he persribed a cream and suppositories to clear it up and this seemed to work. Did suggest a colonoscopy at the time but my bro wasn't keen on this at all! There is a little more blood now and he generally feels uncomfortable around the back passage.
He is terrified he may have cancer! We recently lost our mum to cancer so this has added to his concerns. I have tried to persuade him to go back to the GP for reassurance but he wont. He is afraid of any special tests that doctors may recommend for fear of what may be found!
    Has anyone any advice?

Drag him to the ****ing doctor or ring his GP and pay for a callout to his house. It might be easily fixable; it might be that time is of the essence. GO TO A DOC.

    Best of luck

He went last year and on examining him the doctor said he didn't have any piles. Hes a worry merchant and I have tried to tell him bleeding can be caused by piles, fissures etc. I don't think we are gonna get anywhere until he gets the courage up to go again to GP

    Sounds like piles/haemarrhoids.

GP visit in order to get them treated
