    Hello Folks,

Is an electric fence that earths heavy on ESB?

I would welcome your comments on the above question as it is very difficult to trace all possible earths throughout the farm?

    Regards,

you could run the fencer for an hour with everything else switched off then compare before and after meter readings.

All electrical appliances have a power rating in watts or kilowatts written on the appliance. Your electricity bill is calculated by the number of units of electricity that you use based on a Kilowatt hour or 1000 watts per hour (1 Unit of electricity).
Look at the fencer and see how many watts or kilowatts it is rated for.

Apparently it does not make a difference to usage if the fence is earthing.
