So is anyone going on holiday this year and is so where to?

I was at the hairdressers on Friday and the inevitable 'are you going anywhere nice on holidays?' question came up. This year we're off to Dublin for the weekend in November to see Depeche Mode, but thats more of a birthday present for Mr P than a holiday. Still it's an improvement on last years holiday, which was a night in Galway:( Bloody useless bloody economy, mutter, mutter, lack of funds.

We're saving for a holiday in Rome next April to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary though:)

Haven't been on holiday since 2007.

I'm going to plan something super super awesome for next year though.

Was in Mallorca 3 weeks ago. Going that early in the summer meant it was nice and quiet (we have a 2 and a half year old) but the weather could have been better. Off to Paris in September.

I feckin hate people who begrudge it when your going away.
My sister and her husband drink 3 nights every weekend, he smokes 30-40 a day and she is always in the gym.
And yet I get the usual "isn't it well for some" ****e when they hear we're going away.

Little Mexican restaurant off Wencelas Square (near a sex show place, of course), you can't miss it. Amazing food, huge portions, one of the cheapest eateries (including the beer) in the city.

Then you can nip across the road for some "entertainment", but I wouldn't know about that kinda thing.

Unfortunately, generally Prague is not as cheap as it once was and you have to look around to get particularly cheap deals. Back in the day, you couldn't spend your money in it

Was in California earlier in the year. Nothing major planned the rest of the year - may take a week and explore Ireland a bit. Or maybe get the ferry over to England and see what the lake district is like.

Have booked 3 weeks off work in August but have no idea if I'll even make it out of Ireland - would love to head to a house in the south of France, will probably end up in a 2* hotel in Magaluf....or Electric Picnic in Stradbally will be my holiday, who even knows. :pac:

There's a small and relatively cheap (if I remember rightly) Toy Museum up in the Castle Grounds, depending on the age of the kids, they might find it enjoyable (well as bout as enjoyable as any kid will find a Museum enjoyable). I don't have kids myself but I thought it was cool. It's small enough not to get too bored too quickly.

I have been to Prague a few times and I love it, you'll have a great time no matter what you do.

I am a very easy going, passive person but that 'well for some' crap is so confusingly dumb, sad and pathetic it almost makes my blood boil when I hear it. Then I remember I'm glad I'm not any person who has ever said it seriously.

And extraordinarily moving it is, too. They show you a documentary on the coach first of all, which is harrowing enough.

Im hoping to go to England next week for some interviews. Im hoping that all the travel and they might give me a job. That will be my holiday. I've never been to England, actually i've never been on a plane so im kind of looking forward to it.

And if I dont get a job, im not wasting more money on more interviews in England. If I dont get offered a job, il be going to Australia for a year around September or October.
