Cholesterol [HDL + LDL]

    Hi folks

I read a thread here recently on cholesterol and how it's all about the ratio of the good vs the bad.

Cholesterol has always been high in certain members of my family (genetics), myself included.

I got mine checked last week.

    LDL - 5.6
    HDL - 2.36

Would any experts or knowledgeable people be able to tell me if this is good or bad and what improvements I may need to make? My diet is very clean and I exercise regularly so the 5.6 has to be down to genetics, unless protein shakes/amino energy drinks are high in cholesterol?

    Thanks

your hdl is your protective cholesterol and a read of 2.35 is very high, so that's good and will push your combined cholesterol number up.
You ldl is your bad cholesterol and is also raised. What is your triglyseride level?

What has your doctor said about this, they need to advise you on any changes that might be necessary.
