Low carb high protein diet

    Hi would like your opinion on my diet. I am trying to build muscle but lose weight. Typical day as follows

    Breakfast

    6 rashers
    3 egg omelette

    Mid morning snack

    2 pack Serrano ham
    100 grams rochefort

    Lunch

    Large peanut salad
    2 chicken breasts
    100 grams Camembert

    Mid afternoon snack

    3 hard boiled eggs

    Dinner

    500 gram ribeye steak and onions

    Supper

    2 large cans of tuna
    100 grams chedder

    Late snack
    2 apples

    Beverages during day
    2 litres water
    2 litres milk
    1 litre apple juice
    1 litre smoothie

    milk, juice and smoothies? I don't see low carb in here at all. You should swap these with vegetables, esp the green leafy ones. you can eat tons of non-starchy veg and still be relatively low carb. and don't forget the fat.

    I had equated carbs with pasta,rice, cous-cous and spuds

    Fruit (juices, smoothies etc...)) are high in sugar and therefore high in carbs.

    Plus one on the veg. You have basically no vegetables there at all! It looks like more of an Atkins style diet to me, but maybe that's your intention? Get some good veg into you. They'll give you some necessary carbs without the crap of white pasta and other stereotypical carbs.

    Diet looks like it would be fairly high in cals if you're trying to lose weight but then that is relative to your current size and height so I can't tell for sure.

    Yeah I guess it could be Atkins-esque. The constipation is becoming worse.
