BOD will leave the game some day and his fans i.e the whole country will need a new knight in the green jersey

Honestly can't think of anybody who deserves to wear the 13 jersey after him in Ireland or Leinster

No one will ever replace bod, those shoes can just never be filled. Not in this generation anyway

I would but I play prop so I don't think that transition from prop to centre is possible haha

I'd probably explode in awe of that jerseys glory.

At least the half backs are sorted for the next 10 years at least with Madigan, Jackson and Murray coming through.

Actually Number 9 is still a worry when Reddan and Boss go

    Edit: Paul Marshall...? Meh

    Front row is worrying though

This is where I fall down. Cant remember names for ****. I cant name the Ireland team entirely, Ulster, Leinster, Munster, couldnt even begin Connaught, the Cavan county team, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea...

    Well there's..

Cronin, Strauss and Mike Sherry..they're all 26/27. Best is 30 so I'd say he's probably got maybe 3 years left.

Cian Healy is still very young, there's Kilcoyne and Court..Jack McGrath.

    Okay the props are worrying.

I can remember most Irish players and a other important players in 6 Nations. I could probably name an Irish and Leinster XV.

Im just terrible at it. Ireland and Ulster I know a good bit of but not all.

I say we stick Paddy Jackson in as a prop.

As long as he doesn't do conversions and penalties. I'd prefer Madigan to do them instead.

Haha maybe when we're short on props and Johnny is playing and Madigan's on the bench..

The kid will get raped :pac:

Ah no he's real good at it but he's a little rusty at place kicking because..well he hardly ever gets a shot at the goal at Ulster, Piennar takes most of them. Excellent out half though.

We'd get a laugh until he dies in the first scrum.

Then why did he get called up to the Ireland squad for the 6 nations and be expected to do it then, under bigger pressure because not everyone agreed with him being called up. Madigan would have been a better option imo.

It was a strange call. Maybe to give the boy some experience on the national scene

I agree. Madigan was in the 6 Nations squad wasn't he? He played centre off the bench the whole time though. DK should have played him at out half, not Jackson. And he definitely shouldn't have started against both Scotland and France. It was too risky.

When Sexton got injured, I was sure it would be ROG/Mad but..well that's Kidney for ya

Edit: Never mind. He was only called in after Sexton got injured.

Have to remember rog was off form completely then but still probably would have done better goal kicking than jackson. Who knows but madigan is goin to be big in a few years, with him and sexton in the green shirt we should be sorted for both goal kicking and hands on out halfs / centres. Both of them can play good rugby in the centres position as sexton played there a couple of times when rog was subbed on during matches

Ah yeah, remember that happening the past few years. Sexton would start and ROG would come on after like 60mins and Sexton moves into 12.

Anybody going to follow Racing Metro next season?

Sexton signed a 2 year deal with them. And ROG slyly signed a deal with them to be his kicking coach :pac:

I honestly don't get the appeal of Rugby, it takes little to no skill (aside from the kicking) :pac:

Have you ever played rugby? A proper effective tackle isn't easy.
    football

If you are talking about soccer then I could not disagree more

It looks easy. Sure all it is is throwing yourself at the other team. Right?

    No.

Why?! I leave and come back and the conversation still has not changed topics *sigh*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,446 ✭✭✭Corvo Attano

Leave me Nim and Daniel alone in the OT and it will turn to rugby.

Were Nim to leave it would change to farming.

Somebody needs to change it. Were more than happy to blather on

American football, the tackling involved in that takes little to no skill. Its just guys im puffed up suits jumping each other really.

Rugby, although it may not hold as much skill as say, hurling, is a surprisingly skilful sport! Tackling, footing, scrumming timing intertwined with ball carrying and obviously kicking are harder than they look :P

    This.

If Daniel and Corvo were to leave...jamo and me would probably talk about planes :pac:

We'd be happy to talk about other things if you guys start the conversation
